Anybody think it was something other than drugs?

The curse of the famous music industry - sex + drugs = an untimely death, claims another one.

Just seems that the gifted lose any appreciation for what they have, what it has brought them, and get so bored they turn to substance abuse. . .

A lot of drugs and this is what you get.   :dead:

she was one of my wifes favorite female singers, I think she has about every cd she made.....too bad, I guessing drugs had SOMETHING to do with it...but, very, very sad regardless.

Now that I've had some time to digest it, I find it ironic that so many, (this poster included), were so quick to rush to judgment in this death. None of us knows what the cause of death is in this case, and yet we speak as if we do.

It could potentially be a genetic defect in her heart, brain, or circulatory system, or a cornucopia of other physical ailments/diseases. Or it could be one of the former exacerbated by substance abuse. Or someone may have killed her too. . .

The authorities say there doesn't see to be a crime.  Sure it could be a cornucopia of other physical ailments/disease, but you surly must thing all of the drugs could have had a correlation to a death at 45.

You are right, my first thought (after finding out that Mr. Brown was across the country) was drugs given the very public problem she had with them in recent years. I guess she could have had other problems but none had been mentioned that I have seen/heard in the media. She had a great voice and I enjoyed listening to her.

Once human beings hit 40, in general, their bodies begin requiring medicinal intervention in order to prolong our lives. . . for a variety of reasons.

The presence of pill bottles in her room may be meaningless, other than the fact she was 48 years old.

Years of drug abuse can take its toll on our bodies, and in some cases accelerate the aging process surrounding our various life support systems. Even if we quit.

I hope that an overdose is not the cause of her death. I hope that she had weathered the storms life had presented to her and that it was just her time.

I guess we will find out more on Monday. . .

The Pastor of her "church" is grabbing attention by saying that "when I found out Whitney was gone I cannot say I was surprised". . . Inferring her death was from an overdose etc, then praising Jeebus and doing a little preaching. . .

Sheesh. . . how are these people going to feel if they find out her death was by "misadventure" and not due to an intentional overdose or substance abuse?

I don't think there is any secrets that she was still using drugs..maybe no crack or cocaine...her own friends said she was drinking champaign the night before and was taking prescribtion drugs....I'm sure it was NOT an INTENTIONAL thing in her mind, but she knows the dangers of drinking and pills.

She had a serious problem....and she lost.

Once again, I must defer to Occam's razor which holds that the most obvious explanation for something is probably the right one.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

It is a known fact that medical prescriptions kill more people than illegal drugs.  These modern drugs can be very deadly if mishandled, misused and with alcohol.  If you're old enough Dorthy Kilgallen a journalist and panelist on "What is my line.
