They are only GPS marking your front door today, and Sec. 223, Title 13, U.S. Code, Chapter 7, Subtitle 2 provides the Fed NO authority to GPS paint your front door.

Yet I can "mark" or "paint" your front door all I want.

What color would you like?

your choice....it don't cost me anything when YOU do it....but it will cost me when Uncle Sam does it....

No ... it will SAVE money.

How exactly will it SAVE money?  Because they said it would?....This is going to be a huge expense during an economic trumoil....

Maybe I DO need a tinfoil hat....but this bird is very, very suspect of this....time will tell.

Henry, I am getting ready to give up on you. You refuse to read or believe anything that you don't agree with.

I understand what they said...but HOW?...by placing the GPS's....will THEY be able to accomplish this?....Just a question, I'm not trying to be facetious....It is not that I refuse to believe this....I don't understand HOW they will accomplish this without adding MORE steps to this GPS system.

The census takers don't place a GPS unit at each house and leave it there. They will be carrying GPS-enabled information input devices with them and punching a button to record the current location and attach that information to the census data for that address. All census data for that location is then electronically saved along with the GPS data and then uploaded to a central database.

No paper is produced. No paper is stored.

Now THAT sounds reasonable.....I am becoming cautiously optimistic...I still need to chew on this and see how this developes....before I jump on this bandwagon.

I'm betting he'll be right back where we started by tomorrow...I mean, everyone knows that the use of technology costs far more than the efficiencies gained are worth; right?

I give the old Hawk a bit more credit than that. I mean after all, aren't we all just a bunch of old, hard-headed farts?

But this reminds me of an old boss who refused to store his documents in a shared folder on the network. He would type up a document, print it out, and then give the paper to me to edit it for him. Or even worse, tell me to print it on letterhead.

Really?  I tend to feed my family food.  What are you raising over there?  A bunch of Wall-E's?
Looks like I've come full circle.

Did you feel that way when all the information was first stored on paper and then transcribed to the computer?
