When people fear the government, that is called tyranny
When the government fears its people, that is called liberty

I think the better question here is WHY?...for WHAT reason should OUR government WANT to have a gps coordinate for EVERY American?....Other than to monitor anybody they choose.

Who cares?

Really!!!! Any idiot with half a brain can just load up Google Earth and get the precise GPS coordinates of any house in the world. In fact, it is so precise you can get the coordinates of your mailbox at the end of the driveway and compare them to the coordinates of your front door.

Hank ... slow down.

How can anyone get a GPS coordinate for "EVERY American" unless they implant little transmitters in everybody's neck?

The article is talking about coordinates for houses, not people.

And how can you "monitor" anyone with the GPS coordinate of a house?

It's pretty funny to see the same freaks who defended Bush's warrantless wiretaps worried about collecting GPS coordinates during a census.

It's part of the GWOT, Henry; go back to sleep.

ACORN is one of hundreds of "National Partners" — along with Delta Airlines, FedEx, the AFL-CIO and General Mills — who agreed to provide free advertising and other services. ACORN signed on last month and was a partner for the 2000 census, the bureau said.

Okay, let me re-phrase...Obama wants a GPS mark..."within 40 ft of every front door" in America and they are supposed to complete that mission nation wide, within 90 days, by the end of July 2009....

Don't you think this should be ...discussed?...maybe they should SLOW down a tad on this....what authority does HE have to "paint" the front door of every American Home?....Shouldn't the ACLU be concerned about our civil liberties?...
I really don't know WHAT to think about it....other than I think it is another opportunity for govenrment to 'control' it's citizens.

I know you guys LIKE this guy...but, He seems to be in WAY too big of hurry to do something that

I also find pretty funny THOSE of you who FREAKED out because of Bush's Wiretaps...seem to think this is an okay thing?

First, let me ask what you think  "paint the front door" means?

And remember, I can sit here without ever leaving my chair and "paint" your front door, your back door, your mailbox, that picnic table in your back yard, etc., etc.

Ah, so that's the real problem...this president, whom you hate despite claiming you'll keep an open mind and wait to see how he performs (bullshit), wants to do something so it must automatically be wrong.

I know it flies in the face of your tin-hat conspiracy theory and what not but is it possible that capturing the location of the information as it's entered improves the accuracy of the survey?
