ok gotta share this foot in mouth story.

i work with a guy who is terminally christian.  he's a former minister, and goes so far as to openly show distain for halloween.  (as though we don't take enough crap for christian holidays, but that's another thread, and this is just an example)

i met this guy on a thursday.  i'm sure it was a thursday, because he doesn't work fridays.   "have a nice weekend" he said, i replied "you don't come in friday?" (gentle reminder that it was thursday).

i'm somewhat "glib" so when he said "nope, i don't ever work fridays", i replied "who did you sell your soul to to get that deal?"

he didn't speak to me again for six months.

Does posting something in the wrong yahoo chat window count as foot in mouth? Especially when the person receiving the messages looks at it and says "huh?" and you want to crawl under the desk because .... well you feel stoooooopid?

Yeah. I wanted to ask that, but I was afraid that I would reveal such a depth of ignorance that I would be laughed off the thread.

I thought I was fairly familiar with the anatomy of the female human being, but I must confess that I have never heard of a "crawl." :biggrin: :biggrin:
