No Troll, he won't, because that would be hypocrisy. You know, Glen Beck said something interesting about Irene being a good thing to teach Americans about disaster prepardness. Knowing that Cantor is a religious type, perhaps he can pray and his state will will be made new. Seriously, there's power in prayer...right? ;D

Cantor will just want to slash unemployment funding in order to pay for his new digs after Irene is done!

Well one thing is for sure, I bet we don't hear one damned thing about "cuts" being a prerequisite toward passing emergency funding for the east coast after this.  It hit those congressional pigs right in the meat curtains. . . And if we do, it will be in the form of cuts to our vastly needed social safety net systems.

I won't say the creator did it, but I will say it is Karma. While I feel sorry for the helpless victims and families that have been devastated over this event, I hope they are mindful of just why such Karma has come their way; the selfishness and greed of the elected officials who demanded budget cuts before emergency funding could be appropriated for tornado and flood victims in the middle of this country. Their plight was no less or worse than what the east coast is enduring, but congress delayed for days and weeks before acting. . .

You know, Obama went to FEMA to make sure that they were prepared. I don't know how effective that visit was, but it does show that he was concerned and he made an attempt. Did Bush visit FEMA before Katrina?

I heard they bribed him with a kiddie meal and a toy.

Bush did call the Governor of Louisiana and ask if there was anything they needed and she told him no and promptly disappeared and the Mayor of New Orleans didn't see fit to give evacuation orders or use the buses to help people leave. Besides FEMA could say "sure we're prepared" and not be.

I heard he whined because they put carrots in his meal instead of fries.

Big thunderstorm hit the West side of Stoney Creek township in Madison county.  With wind over 60 mph and taking some old trees with it.  Also the whole area was without power from 6 pm yesterday to 3 pm today.

You know it's hell to go back to the good old days when we didn't have electrical power or very much of it.  Believe me it sucks.  :trustme:

And can you believe it, people in poverty here in the USA has electricity.

Got 11" of rain here over the last two days. Had a hurricane a couple of weeks ago and an earthquake before that. Didn't hear anything from Pat Robertson though.

Did any of that water get to the Everglades and Okeechobee.  I heard it was dry now and you can't even fish it.   :(
