Well, Christmas is over for another year. Hopefully, everybody had a wonderful time. I got together with my family on Christmas Day, and had a nice dinner, and an all around swell time. My parents ( who have been divorced for 20 years) put aside their differences ( at my sister and my request) and we all had dinner together. It went extremely well. They showed no ill will toward each other whatsoever. It made it a very special day. Anywho...... I was wondering how my fellow Zoners' Christmas was, and also what they got for Christmas this year. I'll start us out...... Every year I ask for books, because I love to read. I knew what I was getting because, I helped my hubby order them, to make sure it was the right things.
The books I got were......
"If I did it" about OJ Simpson>>>> I'm 3/4 of the way through it. That's why I wasn't on at all yesterday. I couldn't put it down LOL!!!
"Stolen in the Night" it's about the Groene children abduction case.
The "Dexter" 3 book set
The first season of "Dexter" on DVD
The 5 th season of "Six Feet Under" on DVD.
I also got a varied assortment of small unique presents and c$sh. I love the smell of money in a card LOL!!!
OK, lets hear what you got.
I got a Mandolin w/a learn how tape, the Roots series on DVD, some gift cards for Dave's video, a carton of smokes, a big box of assorted flavored coffee, and an MP3player, some assorted decorative scented soaps, and a Playstation2. I think I shouldn't run out of things to do for a while.
I got a lump o' coal for being bad all year. ;D

Wow!!! You got a bunch of great stuff. I 'm sooooo far behind on all the new gadgets LOL!!! My cell phone is as technical as I get. That coffee sounds real good. I know you posted about playing guitar, and now the Mandolin, you must be very musically inclined. My mother in law sometimes plays the banjo.
the usual clothes, some cool books, enough Lowe's gift cards to finish my never ending bathroom project, and, my gift to myself--a car with cupholders, because driving that convertible everyday was getting real old real fast.
A bath set, "Warm Vanilla Sugar" from bath and body works, a book called "Walking San Diego". I'm so excited about that book because a lot of them are hikes and places I haven't been. I honestly want to start at the beginning and work my way to the back of the book. Candy. A couple gift cards. An ornament. Fruit and and some fuzzy socks.

thats one of the things I got my mom. A girl that used to work in my office used it and she smelled like sugar cookies everytime she walked past...

What kind of car did you buy? Cupholders do come in handy. I drive like a bat out of hell, and my soda constantly dumps over, when I make those ever so sharp turns. My car is a total disaster, because I eat and drive a lot.

It looks like you're pretty in to books too. I spend a lot of my spare time reading. I've heard that if you read a lot, it keeps your mind sharp in old age. I don't know if that's true. I wonder what it does, for a person who never had a mind to begin with (Me)?? Maybe, it will create a few wrinkles in my brain, and by my golden years, I'll be able to maintain a cognative thought. Wouldn't that be great LOL!!!

The steaks were top sirloin--not a cut I would choose--I'm much more of a strip steak fan -- but they weren't bad at all--really quite tender!
I highly recommend the stuffed sole filets with the crabmeat and scallops--mmmmmmmmm!
Can't wait to try out the burgers--oh, and the pork chops were great too!

One thing I got for Christmas, that I really like, is a Smores gift set. I collect Smores figurines, and this set is really neat. It has 2 mugs that are shaped like snowmen, and they're sitting on a chocolate bar on top of a graham cracker. It came with marshmellows, 2 chocolate bars, and hot cocoa mix. We might make some tonight. I think out of everything I got, I like it the best. :smitten:
Just a suggestion on smores...when we made them w/Girl Scouts we used chocolate chips. They stick right to the marshmallows and are easier to melt and eat than the bars.
