I am having a distilled water with ice cubes made from distilled water. Not too sexy, but the purity of the drink is what I love.
I'm having an icy cold Corona. :food4:
Me too.
There are always lushes in this crowd. LOL
Coffee, always coffee. I can't be a lush, it's not allowed. :(
Cheers to ya both. I just downed some strange juice by Crystal Light. :food24:

Creme and or sugar, there sugar? :stirthepot:
Only cream if it is flavored. I'm partial to Irish Creme, Amaretto, Chocolate, or Chocolate Mint Truffle. :) Otherwise, black with sugar. (none of that artificial sweetener)
Alka Seltzer cold plus, again. I kept waking up during the night. I'm going to take it and try to get more rest. (moan)
Cuppa decaffeinated white tea.
I gave up caffeine months ago and because I was truly addicted to coffee, I can't stand the taste of decaf so I've been replacing it w/tea on chilly mornings/nights.

I miss coffee. I was the "lets chug a homemade triple expresso with my coffee" guy in the mornings on my way to get a cappuccino so I could get to the shop and start a pot of coffee. With all that caffeine and the stress of running the businesses I had blood pressure high enough to turn Hoover Dam's turbine electricity generators.
So I quit cold turkey and went through withdraws and took up drinking green tea. Green tea cured me of ever wanting to drink anything hot in a cup ever again. YACK!!
I am drinking nothing at the moment but will be going out to the kitchen in a minute for some iced green tea with honey.

I don't think my blood pressure ever rose. But I'm betting it had a lot to do with my extreme weight loss. Between the stress and the caffeine, I hardly ate anything. I'm glad that is in the past. I've finally come to terms with the divorce and even though I still stress, I calm it down pretty quick by reminding myself that there is nothing more I can do about these situations until the time is right. Everything is going along as it should and there is no reason to stress because it isn't happening faster.

Hows the humidity level in your home? If you don't have a humidifier try boiling a big pot of water with a fan near it. I find colds are sinus based and sinus problems stem from dry sinuses and that happens because the air is way too dry. Wintertime means people turn on their heat and that dries the air out badly. Some kinds of heat are worse than others. Electric baseboard heat was the worse I ever ran into for making the air dry fast.
More about the sinuses, when they dry, they crack and that delicate tissue opens up and bleeds, or just opens up. Then you have germs zooming up your nose as you breathe and landing on those open membranes. And SHAZAM...you have a cold that fast.
not only that, but your nose gets scabs inside.....and you always feel like you need to be blowing your nose, AND it hurts. :(
How I do Orange Juice.
Tall glass of crushed ice or ice cubes.
Equal parts OJ & 7Up (diet) or Sprite (diet)
Splash of Grenadine
Straw or Mixer Stick
I imagine a club soda would work as well if one wanted it dryer tasting as far as sweet. The grenadine gives it interesting color and sets the taste buds off if it's not over done. Crushed ice for a colder drink that allows the drinker to enjoy small to medium ice particles to go down with the liquid.
If you don't have an ice crusher, wrap some ice in a clean bar towel, or hand towel and beat vigorously with a hammer against a solid surface such as the counter or bar. Smash until no large chunks can be felt. This produces finely crushed ice that almost resembles snow that when used in a cocktail produces a "slush" effect.
This reminds me of a cocktail I used to mix and it seems like it was popular, but its been about 15 years since I slung drinks across a bar. Described above is a non-alcoholic drink you can order up in about any bar. You will look like you are having a cocktail and not look like the deadbeat non-drinker having a can of pop. Not to mention, it's refreshing and the OJ is good for you.
I make them at home sans the grenadine, I eschew the liquor sections of the stores which is where I would find it.
Or you can go ahead and have that alcoholic drink, substituting Coconut Rum for the 7Up or Sprite. It's what I often drink when I choose to have something 'fruity'. (Which hasn't happened in 2 years, damnit)

Indeed, or substitute the soda pop for Peachtree Schnapps and have the makings of a Fuzzy Navel. Chicks like those, but they are a lightweight drink unless you splash some vodka in them. Even then they are light.
By the way, if you have a taste for coconut rum, then why not a pina colada?
Because I want Grenadine and OJ.

hot chicken broth
Ah, home remedies. I remember I got so sick with a sore throat, that it about swelled shut on me and I couldn't hardly even whisper. So I got a friend to score me some antibiotics and a pint of whiskey from a relative.
I pounded down the pint of whiskey and horse pills in record time. I suddenly could talk and felt better, then I took a nose dive into a big pile of covers and a sleeping bag. I woke up the fever had broke and I was drenched in sweat and over it.
Egadz what we do when we are young.
Port!
That should look like a Tequila Sunrise sans the tequila.
I'm currently sitting at Dave & Buster's here in Fort Lauderdale and enjoying and icy Corona.
Grrrrr! I'm jealous. LOL Hot Chocolate now, Corona later.
Coffee, with Irish Creme creamer. As if I need to be drinking coffee. LOL
The last of some distilled water that has turned room temp. Meh. I had some cranberry juice with some wal-mart flavored sparkling water earlier, I think it was strawberry. It was very tasty.
I used to mix Squirt and Tahitian Treat together. All that fizzle.....fun!!!
Oh man--I haven't had Squirt in years! Not available here
I get my in laws to bring me Vernor's from TN when they come visit--love that stuff :smitten:
Wow, Vernor's! It's been 30+ years since I have had any of that. My dad used to go on about it.
Just for the taste of it, Diet Coke!
ewww...diet anything
Mello Yello...... I just found this thread. Good topic lex.
Thanks, it's a bar and grill in space and I am here to serve drinks and conversation.
btw, I am drinking distilled ice water. (distilled ice too)
I like it better than bottled water because frankly there are no regulations on bottled water. It could be out of a tap in New York City. But distilled water is pure, pure, pure. If I want minerals I will take a vitamin.
But don't get me wrong, I love a good drink of artesian spring water and I do like mineral water, its just that distilled is very good and its CHEEEEEEEEEP.

Ya know, it's kind of sad we have to resort to bottled drinking water, because the tap water is soo polluted, you can't drink it. I have a well, but we drink bottled water, because there is sooo much sulfur in it , it smells like a rotten egg. Pwueeey...... talk about stinky. :spooked: We even give our inside pets bottled water. On another note.... I'am a horrible soda addict, so it'll probably be a soda every time,or I might surprise you sometime with a milk LOL!!!! I drink waaaay too much soda, and it's sooo bad for me, but I can't seem to kick it. :spooked:

Us having to drink purified water is just the beginning of the end of us and Lord only knows what else before we swirl around the bowl and out the drain of doom. We've screwed up the water tables, the Jordan Stream and just about everything else around us. The thing of it is, we can't give everything that needs water purified water. All the little plants, bugs and animals need clean water too. And if we think we can hose them over and let them drink screwy water then we are retarded as a species and deserve what we have coming to us.
Every little life form has it's place here. After God created us, he put us to work in the garden and tending and caring for his creation. Ever since we got fired we've been trashing stuff. I think every good christian should be ecologically conscience because after all, it's Gods and we work for him and are part of his family, duh!
Wow, I sure can ride my horse called Digression.
Try cutting out caffeine from your sodas if you want to cut back on them. Or drink a glass of water first before you have a soda. You are trying to hydrate and soda pop is a sorry way to do it. But I understand, I can swill pop with best of them if I let myself.

I think we're inching closer to the end too. We have ruined our environment. Over in my section, I have a thread about pestilence, and tree fungus. It tells about some of the problems, I've dealt with this past Summer on my homefront. I think the world really is slowly gravitating to the end. Our environment is soo screwed up, but it is his plan, and he says how it will end.

A Coke
Okay, I broke down. I'm not supposed to have any alcohol, but dangit, it's the holidays and my tradition is to have at least a shot of kahlua in my coffee everyday during the season. Well I can't afford the kahlua this year so I bought a bottle of Kamora. Same thing. Put a shot in my coffee...and ewww.....for God's sake, don't ever put it in a caramel flavored coffee. yuck. I'll try it again tomorrow when my son in law is not here to sneak the flavored coffee in on me.
Mello Yello
Well what do you know, I have Peppermint creamer in my coffee this time :D
Black coffee. I'm boycotting the french-vanilla flavored cups of creamer.
Chocolate Mint truffle creamer in my coffee.
I'm not drinking now, but I do plan to have some Corona on hand later to kick off the weekend.

I'm drinking a big cup of ow-my-goddamn-head-hurts.
After 45 days of not drinking, I went out for a night on the town with my buddy Dave from the gym...now my head is throbbing. I went from a bottle a night to 4drinks = knockout! TKO! You're down for the count you bastard! SMAAAAAAAAAACK! Critical hit!
Needless to say, I didn't drink any water, didn't set my alarm, so 30 minutes after the gym should have been opened this morning, I get a call that sounds like "WHY ISN'T MY GODDAMN GYM OPENED HUNTER!?!?"...etc.
So I grab my backpack/shaving-kit and sprint out the door...get up here, wash face/brush teeth...walk next door to subway, get breakfast(at 11am), and there you have it.
So what are you drinking now?
A giant subway cup of water.
