List them, rate them, lemme know if Netflix needs to send them to me!
It's not "new", but I just watched it on Demand early preview...
The Illusionist w/Ed Norton and Jessica Biel. I really enjoyed it. It's a love story, but has an awesome twist. I'd give it 4 out of 5 Piya points.
Another movie that's not a 'new release'...but, I'm WAYYYY behind in the movie watching arena.
I found this to be a cute & funny flick with Uma Thurman & Meryl Streep:
Prime (2005)
Plot Outline: A career driven professional from Manhattan (Thurman) who is wooed by a young painter, who also happens to be the son of her psychoanalyst (Streep).
Should be good for a laugh or two. ;D
Great--that's the kind of input I'm looking for!
Keep 'em coming folks!
And thanks!
Saw "The Last King of Scotland" with Forest Whitaker the other day. About the last days of Idi Amin.
EXCELLENT movie. A tad on the violent side but Whitaker deserved the Oscar.
Good flick!
Lil BEG and I watched 'Freedom Writers' this weekend. It stars Hillary Swank with co-star Patrick Dempsey. She thought it was great because she can see where all the anger and hate begins and why there are so many fights at Anderson High School. She really liked it becuase it shows that it can be overcome - the hatred that is. She watched it Sat & Sun and then took it to her dad's last night.
I think it's a must see for all at-risk, urban school kids.

Thanks, BEG--I've added that one to my Netflix list........I love Pat Dempsey :smitten:
Very disappointed in The Devil Wears Prada--YAWN!

Funny...finally got around to watching this last week & wasn't too impressed either.
"Thank You For Smoking"--HYSTERICAL!! Highly recommended!
Clerks II -- If you liked the first, you'll like this one!
We saw 'Resurrecting the Champ' this past weekend. It was much better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie stars Josh Harnett and Samuel L Jackson. It's a movie based on a true story involving a boxer & a journalist.

Kewl, I'll add that to my list. I love anything with Mr. Jackson.
Thanks girl!
I just saw The Pursuit of Happyness last night.
Great movie!
Last night we saw 'Blade of Glory'. http://www.bladesofglorymovie.com/
It was one of those brain-less, silly movies and if that's what you're in the mood for, it's a perfect.
I liked it more than I thought I would, plus it's only 93 mins.
Saw "This Movie Is Not Yet Rated" the other night. It basically tells how the movie rating system works and how people in the movie business think it is the last fascist regime in the US--very interesting. Long, though. BTW--it was given a X rating (Now known as NC-17--LOL)
We saw '3:10 to Yuma' last night. It was a pretty good western - shoot 'em up movie.
I'm now looking forward to seeing 'Good Luck, Chuck'. This look absolutely hilarious.
We're going to see The Brave One on Sunday. I'm looking forward to that ........watched "Ellie Parker" with Naomi Watts from my Netflix collection -- you guys can skip that one
We rented Perfect Strangers starring Halle Barry & Bruce Willis. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457433/
It was a good movie with a surprising ending.
I talked Mr. Fishers into renting the Ultimate Gift. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482629/
It's a great movie. It was very thought provoking and brought us to a wonderful conversation about life and love. It was an excellent choice, if I do say so myself. LOL
We're gonna watch 'Mr. Brooks' tonight or tomorrow night. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780571/
I will give my opinion Monday.
Kewl--you can be our Siskel and Ebert! LOL
We tried to rent 'Mr. Brooks' twice this weekend and it was out - which makes me want to see it even more. LOL
Anyway we rented 'Next'. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435705/
This was a good movie. I'm not too hip on the paranormal and ESP, but this was a movie that didn't go too far overboard with it.
Nicholas Cage played a magician fabulously. Julianne Moore (one of Mr. Fishers favorite actresses) played the FBI agent in charge really well. Jessica Biel (one of my favorite actresses) played the HOT damsel in distress very well.
Oh kewl! I love ANYTHING with Nich Cage in it :drool1:
If you get a chance, rent The Wicker Man. He is great in it. Rarely do I find a remake well done but he did a fine job in this one!
We FINALLY saw Mr. Brooks. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780571/
It was a great movie. It had it's bloody parts (what thriller doesn't) but not too much. We jumped a number of times throughout the movie and what was great is that the music didn't lead to us jumping - if ya understand that at all. LOL
Anyway, I'm now kind of disappointed that I didn't see it in the theater because I can only imagine how much better it would have been on the big screen. Oh well, it was still very good on the TV screen.
Well, I added that to my Netflix queue when you first posted about it and it still hasn't arrived
Usually Netflix is really good about sending them along quickly........
Watched Vanilla Sky last night...........skip it :2cents:
Saw American Gangster today. Really good movie albeit a little long ..............
Mr. Brooks is AWESOME!
Highly recommended by Tallulah, Inc.
Watched Harold and Maude last night--a chick flick but good nonetheless!
Hubby and I are getting into the "Classics." We were watching a program on A&E called The top 100 Movies of all time, or something like that........anyway, he hasn't watched hardly any of the ones listed so I added them to our Netflix queue.
We have The Maltese Falcon and Chinatown currently waiting to be viewed.
Chinatown wasn't that great -- maybe it was scandelous for it's time but pretty much a big yawn to us :-\
This isn't new, but I think it's newly on DVD.
Perfect Stranger (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457433/)
Halle Berry and Bruce Willis (and he's not a drunk cop  )
It's a decent drama flick. I really don't want to go into detail because I don't want to give away the plot, but if you like crime suspense...it's a must see.
Okay, I'm now reading the reviews and it doesn't seem like anyone else liked it. Just be careful if you look at them 'cause they spoil the end.
I know! That's why I hesitate to Google any of them--I just want to know if it's worth my time or a real snoozer
Last night we watched "Good Luck Chuck" on pay per view. It was really good. If you want a good laugh watch it. That guy that plays the lead is one H-O-T babe.
Since hot babes have always been a priority in my world, I shall put the movie on the Netflix queue.

There's an all out sextravaganza in it. Lots of crazy sex scenes all in one frame it's crazy LMAO!!!!I thought I was watching a porno for a minute. :spooked:
Has anyone seen 'We Own the Night'?
I missed it on the big screen and everytime I go rent it at Blockbuster, they don't have it. Now that tells me it must be good!

I don't think I've ever seen that one. Who's in it?
