I gather you don't hunt or fish?

No but I hunt for meat at Costco.  Hunters don't hunt because they need food; they hunt because they have little dicks and it makes them feel like men to kill something.  If I am going to hunt, it'll be for people; it's infinitely more satisfying and profitable.

Ah, why does your answer now surprise me. Can't you post anything without juvenile name calling?

Good luck to ya if things get bad.  Guess you'll be starvin' or beggin' some of those "little dick" people for food.

Aw...did I offend your redneck sensibilities?  Here's a clue: I don't care; I'm tired of suffering the opinions of fools and idiots.

WTF?  I thought things were already bad.  Isn't that what you've been harping on about for months?  How long do you think you'll last if things get really bad?

Well lets put it this way, I can go out in the yard and find edible plants and know how to prepare and cook them, I can also cut up a rabbit, deer, or other game animal to cook and know how to preserve for later use.  I know how to cook on an open fire and have tons of cast iron I can use to do it with.  I cook from scratch not from a box or jar.

Hopefully you're a lot better at that than you are at understanding virtually anything about the world outside of your yard.  And FYI...I grow and can plenty of my own food...I currently have 8 4'x8' raised beds that I pull food out of from late March until at least the end of November...usually later for my brussel sprouts and late greens.  As a last resort if it gets really ugly, I can just take your food!  LOL...

If there was ever a case to be made for gun control, this is surely it.     :big grin:

Doesn't it always seem to be that way?

Shooting and church.

Around here the game dinners are always held in the church of god or the baptist church.

(No room at the catholic church -- gambling going on, ya know.)

They've gotta make money some way ya know.  And, after all, they can go to confession the next day and beg forgiveness for their sins and all will be right with the world once again.

LMAO!  Aw, that's hysterical in a naive sort of way!  So you think that the people who have experience with sitting in a tree-stand waiting for some unsuspecting deer to walk up so they can shoot it will have an edge over the people with tactical training?  How would you avoid getting picked off by someone concealed in a tree-line several hundred yards away when you go outside to gather your 'edible plants'?  People are completely delusional about their probability for survival in a worse-case-scenario event despite whether or not they may have guns.

Yeh, I'm the fool...because you think you can, not only spot but engage a sniper who has the benefit of cover and concealment from several hunderd yards away.  Like I said, you're delusional...your entire team could be taken out before you even have the opportunity to figure out the direction from which the bullets are coming.  It happens all of the time in combat...not sure why you think you'd fare better with no training.

Really, grandma?  You'd better hope it never comes to that because you won't last 72 hours.  What a delusional idiot.

My father always had a gun, and he was a hunter -- went once a year on a deer-huntin' trip in Pocahontas County with his brothers. Never did bring a deer home, though. And my mother knew how to use a gun. When I was very young, I stood beside her one dark night as she poked the shotgun out the window and pulled the trigger. (Daddy sometimes worked at night, and she heard somebody moving around outside the window.)The next day, the local doctor told daddy that he treated somebody "who got shot in the leg last night, but the fellow didn't know who did it."

But guns and church?  :spooked: No way. Oxymoron. And if all other arguments fail, what in the world would Miss Manners think?

As I've said before; I got mine a long time ago. Training and weapons. And yet despite that I may not last much longer than some, but longer than most in any case.

I can hunt, I can fish, I can grow food, and when I cannot I can take them when necessary. Until I cannot, at which point I will perish.

And while I can see the validation for increased gun control, I STILL believe it to be nothing more than a band-aid that will do nothing to stem the slaughter. Increased access to mental health care and health care in general is a better step in my mind. But hey, I don't make six figures for a 90 day a year job, or have major corporations paying me under the table either. . .
