Huh, GG posts an article with which generally agree...go figure.  I wonder if she recognizes how at odds this article is with most of her social positions?

This is why we need to get rid of the electoral college and go by the majority of the peoples vote. Let the people elect their own leaders, not a few chosen states.

So you're in favor of majoritarian tyranny?

Did you also believe that after the 2000 presidential election?

I have believed it for over 10 years now. I do not think it is a democratic nation when 9 states can determin the outcome of our elections. By using the popular vote at least all will be heard from. Just think, instead of concentrating on just 9 states, the politicians would have to spread themselves out more.,
I also believe that instead of negative ads we should have free debates for all the canidates on local television(nbc, cbs etc) since the public subsidizes them. That would deminish the need for so much campaign money and give every canidate a chance, instead of who has the most money to spend.

It sounds more and more like you can't find much to like about our system of government; you should seriously consider moving.

Is that you answer to everything Ex: If you don't agree with the other side, leave. I don't think so!

It isn't a question of agreeing with another side; it's a question of believing in the very fabric of our society which you clearly do not.

Then Al Gore would have won the 2000 election under your rules.

See there you go again. Saying your opinion of this is the only right opinion and every one elses opinion is dead wrong. I don't know how to break it to you, but you could be wrong :o. The difference is that I aknowledge your right to your opinion and don't put you down for it or tell you to move somewhere else. Chew on that awhile

Uh, no, it isn't my opinion; it is the United States Constitution.  It's been working just fine for us for well over 200 years; if you don't like what it says, GTFO!
