Again, this is exactly WHY, the gov needs to stay OUT!......talk about sticking it to the poor and middle class...........this is supported by many democrats, including Obama!!!  This WILL force inflation and completely bring the economy to a halt!!!!

and you bet your behind, that I would NEVER, buy another GM product AGAIN!!!

Yep, go buy a Honda, a Toyota or anything that's foreign, now that you got an excuse.   Hell, with the money you make you wouldn't need that GM discount your dad could get for you.  Forget about buying American.  :4th4:

I will buy a Ford over GM any day now.........and heck, I would buy a Honda over GM right about now, especially if they pursue this $1 per Gal tax.......Honda at least employees several thousand Americans....What is American about FORCING Americans to buy THEIR  product by raising the price of Gas so much they HAVE to buy a "hybrid" GM to get to work on?  THAT is what this bitch (Obama and the GM big shots) want's to do!!!

Henry give it a break.  Who in hell care what one CEO has to say.  He got as much chance to pull that off as I would if I brought it up.

I glad General Motors is back and with Chrysler they are putting over I Million workers back to work.  I am truly glad something finally worked.  Now we need to redo the free trade treaties.  They are screwing us to death.  :flag: :salute:

Nobody will be put back to work as long as the businesses can out source work to slave wage countries.    :trustme:

For one, I do. The automotive manufacturing sector has been a long time obstacle toward government taxing the hell out of gasoline and petroleum products; and as both you and I know, these days the "almighty corporation" is increasingly becoming the "we the people" definition. You remove that obstacle, as this GM Honcho has already begun via his statement, and you let loose the dogs of hell surrounding taxation.  This guy's statement is just the foothold government needs to begin leveraging toward that. . .

My personal push back surrounding this GM executives position is, that if the average American Family is indeed needing such a financial incentive to buy fuel efficient vehicles, then just why is it that GM itself refused to stop manufacturing inefficient vehicles???? And just why is it that, now that these same American Families have facilitated their survival on our dime, that this company apparently now wants to bite the very hands that feed it????

Yep, bite the hand that feeds them and sell us their electric cars at inflated prices.  As I see it I'm a long, long way from putting my eggs into an electric basket.  :tiphat:

Let's break things down here and think about it.  IF, our credit rating is downgraded what does that really mean?  From what I understand is it will mean raising interest rates on those who wish to purchase anything on credit.  We already have a housing issue; I think this will be the icing on the cake as far as any economic recovery.

The fact we currently borrow 40 cents of every dollar we spend as a nation tells me one thing is necessary.  We MUST cut spending.  Why do the liberals think that all we need to do is raise our debt limit and then raise taxes and this will solve everything?   Why are they so uninterested in cutting our spending?

Is it to keep their power?

To keep entitlements in check so they can continue to buy voters?

As it is right now, every man, woman and child owe nearly $50,000 to pay off the $14 trillion we owe.  This is not including the cost of our coming "healthcare" the democrats has put into place.

The only way that we can possibly do to prevent this downgrade and possibly dodge a bullet is to come to an agreement to raise the debt ceiling, but ONLY with an accompanying cut in spending that exceeds the size of the debt increase.

The scary part is, the dems and Obama seem to outright refuse to stop with their "big spending", and want to unwisely raise taxes on the very people who are our only true way of stimulating our economy, on the entrepreneurs.  In spite of this very business unfriendly administration where even most economists along with Obama himself that raising taxes on Americans in the middle of a recession is an exceptionally bad idea, but that is exactly what Obama and ilk are wanting so badly to do.

Democrats want to continue big spending.  Not true.  But the Republicans absolutely refuses to raise tax of multimillionaires and billionaires, upper 2% of the population which makes 80% of the money.

It is not just the multimillionaires and billionaires, they want to tax those over $250,000...most economist AND Obama himself stated, raising taxes during a down economy is a BAD thing....so, WHY is it you think they should raise them....we are currently experiencing an extremely DOWN economy.

and just for the record the top 1% pays 40% of the federal revenue collected by income taxes....the top 25% pay 86% of the income taxes....

Like you should give a damn, what in hell have they done for you lately.  But why shouldn't they pay more taxes. the top 2% make 80% of all of the money and the middle class has taken a pay cut.

When did you get your last raise.  I bet with the little improvement in the economy here in Indianapolis I bet your boss got a raise.  Just keep :kissit: kissing their ass, my old Tea Party nut, you're not going to get a damn thing out of them.
except a good fucking.

But let me say this, if your Republicans let this country go into default.  Just throw your Republican legs out your Tea Party shoulders and kiss you Republican/Tea Party ass goodbye.  The Muslims would get a bigger vote than your dumb asses 2012.
