Texas was very similar to here my first day there. But Thursday it got absolutely beautiful out; high 70's and clear, and down to the upper 50's at night.

Now for my rant:

I am SOOOOOOO fuggin over these discriminatory employers in the midwest!  :rant:

Texas has jobs and plenty of them! Good paying jobs. And their housing market has not taken any kind of hit what so ever. (At least not in Houston). My daughter's place has gained 10% in value in just the last 3 years!

And WTF is it with these employers so many of you imply are "philanthropic"?

I know of at least two locally here that are threatening to take away the morning and afternoon breaks of their employees by quoting :we are only legally required to provide a 20-30 minute meal break each day.

Seriously? What about your moral responsibilities? . . . Oh wait, that's right; you have no morals! You are a soulless and faceless entity that happens to have constitutional rights because you bought them!  :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Okay.............we now have (allegedly) our DOJ secretly obtaining phone records from the Associated Press.....the IRS targeting tea party groups........and a serious cover-up scandal over Benghazi..
and Good Morning America and the Today show opens with Angelina Jolie having a mastectomy.........

I can assure you that I am in no, way, shape or form, DEVASTED over Jolie opting to remover her funbags....I am rather concerned that our IRS can violate our constitution and "target" groups........THAT is something we all should be DEVASTED about.

It refers to the penchant of journalism to "highlight" those items within current events that "bleed" over any other event.  (Why? Well because blood sells newspapers of course. Today it attracts advertisers).

No,  I just never heard that expression before.........and was wondering where you was going with it.

I think in this case, SOME news agencies simply does not want to confront certain pertaining issues that might incrimiate people THEY don't want incriminated.

So, they lead with a story that our "low-information" voters WANT to hear about.........DWTS, American Idol, Honey-boo boo.........that is the kind of news that paralyze a large segment of our population and become apathetic about REAL issues.
