I almost hit a dog.  I was pulling into my subdivision and this lady and her kids were waving their arms at me like they needed me so I was trying to get to them and they are screaming.  All of a sudden I look down and there is this white terrier in front of my car.  I slam on the brakes.  Can you point to the dog rather than wave your hands around like the universal sign of help?  I know that sounds ridiculous but here I am driving toward them so I can see what is wrong and my attention is taken away from the front of my car to them!  GRRR!

Those dumb asses.... why didn't they have it on a leash? I suppose they were freaking out, and that's why they were waving like that. Maybe it will teach them a lesson.

That was kinda stupid.
Especially in an area that has quite a bit of traffic. I bet they won't learn a thing from it, and the dog will end up getting hurt or killed.

If Kimmi would have hit it the fact she would feel horrible would be doubled by the fact that the kids saw it Happen.  I bet the fact that they caused her to be distracted to begin with would have escaped their notice.

Dex, I have a pomeranian and every so often, when I open the front door, he takes off like a shot.  For some reason, he's a lot faster than I am and I have a hard time catching up with him.  The stupid animal thinks it's a game. he will take off, stop, turn around look at me....wag his tale and as soon as I'm almost close enough to catch him, he takes off running again. One of these days he's going to get hit by a car or truck, I just know it!!!  And when it happens, I hope no one starts screaming at me about having him on a leash.  Animals can be just that fast and you don't know the story about how they got from a safe environment to being in front of a car.   Crap happens, even when you try hard not to let it happen.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Yeah, they can get away from you pretty quick. I live in the country, but I still keep Pugsly on his leash at all times. Of course he is a senior, and he is somewhat obese, so he probably couldn't make it to the road LOL!!!! I don't chance it though. All of it's accidental. People don't try to let their pets get in the road, and get hit. But safety precautions minimize it greatly. I hope your little dog doesn't get hit. There's nothing worse than losing a pet.

Today...I put the screen door back on the house.....or rather the new one I bought I awhile back so I could replace the one that Jason screwed up when he was here.  This should minimize Rudy's ability to run out the door when it is opened.  He won't see a wide open door, but something else preventing him from running free.  I couldn't see me putting a leash on him every time that door opens and he's in the house...I'd be jack in the box, up and down all day the way that door revolves on some days. LOL

They can really keep you on your toes. My kitten Dexter is quite the handful this afternoon. He's really fussy, and cries everytime he thinks he's alone. I'm not sure what's up. I think he wants to play, but the other cats are all asleep LOL!!.

I was wrong. I thought I had him under control...I was pulling the inside door behind as I was opening the screen door....he darted out.  This time he went around the block and a young boy went after him for me.  Geeez.

Thank God he didn't get hit.  :spooked: He got away in the blink of an eye. My inside cats dart out the door, before I even realize they're anywhere around. The little suckers are fast.

Max herds our cat for us. If kitty tries to go outside we just say, "Max, get the kitty", and he gets tone lock on her instantly. Works great!  Kitty now just has to hear that phrase and she stops whatever she's doing and runs for cover!

That's a good way to keep them in line.  It wouldn't work with Pugsly though, all the cats just love him to pieces. I'm not sure what it is, but they just love him up,and rub on him all the time. I think their crazy, because most of the time he's stinky, and he drools.  :spooked: He's a good little guy, but he turned 12 in April, and he's going down hill awful fast. We're trying to brace ourselves. Pugs are very loyal and loving dogs, but some of them aren't too smart. They're meant for companionship, and they are very good at that.
