Excellent weather for the snow blower! Just got back in from doing the driveway and the sidewalk. . . Maybe if I am lucky the wind will blow real hard tonight and I'll have to do it all again in the morning!  :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I'm wondering...Is that the smell of the sun baking palm leaves?

I think I won't be going outside anytime soon.  Temp -2 feels like -20 is what the weather thing says.   :cold:

No drifts here, can still see the tire tracks from when we came home from Indy at 8 pm last night.

:dam: It's to cold to blow snow.  I have heard there might be some more.  If it gets a little warmer like 28 degrees, we'll blow some snow.

Well, as usual, the winds out here promptly covered over every square inch of sidewalk with drifting snow. And you're right Troll, it was too damned cold to go out and play in it, so instead I went to Indy today and ran some errands. . . :rotfl: :flash:

We're supposed to get a couple more inches Saturday and 4 more on Monday-Tuesday!  8) 8) 8)

My daughter lives in VA about 40 miles from DC and it took her 12 hours to get home yesterday. She left work in Falls Church at 3 PM and got home at 3:30 AM.

I think I'm gonna not complain about this little dab of snow we got 'cause they're gettin' hammered out there.

The Feds made a decision to send everybody home at 3:00 PM, just when the snowstorm started. The problem was that all those people were dumped onto the roads at one time instead of staggered through the day like normal.

Now the news people around here are calling it the Thunderstorm. The storm started with the heaviest sleet I have ever seen along with lightning and thunder, followed quickly by some of the heaviest, wettest snow I can remember. Some people north and west of the city got as much as a foot in less than five hours.

Still, that storm doesn't compare to the surprise Veterans Day storm in 1987. My wife left her job in downtown D.C. at 1:00 that afternoon. 10 hours later, she was forced to abandon her car on the DC Beltway (only 5 miles from her work) and hiked to a Ramada where she spent the night on the floor of the lobby.

Yeah, and it is not over yet. . . We've still got plenty of time left in which to get our own version of Thunder snow!  :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:
