The Weather in Your Neck of the Woods

I had to go up and check out the damage to our recently purchased home in Boone County this morning.  A few shingles off the ridge, a downspout down, and the garage door slightly blown in on the right hand side.  Since we don't take possession until Sunday evening, the sellers insurance has to cover it.  They have State Farm as do we, so I don't expect any BS from the insurance side.  I am keeping myself involved in the repairs.  All in all, it could have been a lot worse.

Glad there wasn't any serious damage.  From what I've heard it got pretty bad in some places.  I agree that State Farm is fantastic.  I've been with them for over 30yrs and never had a problem with anything.

Wow, took a look on the WRTV website and saw a report on the storm done about 3 miles from our new home.  Semi blown over, a barn tore all to hell, and serious damage to the grain handling system.  Looks like we, and the neighbors were very lucky.

We had really big, fluffy flakes yesterday but they didn't stick around.  I love it. 

On a side note, my very southern boyfriend was VERY concerned about me driving myself to a baby shower I was going to last night.  I thought it was adorable until he started giving me pointers on how to drive in the snow.  I guess getting your driver's license in a foot of snow doesn't really count toward ability!

I am not sure what we officially got but about 3 sounds and looks right to me. . .  It was that fluffy stuff that doesn't pack well, otehrwise I'd have a snowman or two on the lawn outside. Lil puppy loves it though!

I didn't even get to start up the snow blower either. The wind cleared the driveway and the sidewalks of the powder. . .

16.2 degrees outside at this very moment! (According to my home weather station). 

And that is NOT including the wind chill either!
