Fall is in the air! And not a moment too soon for me.
Here are some I took yesterday, no fall color yet, but the views were awesome:

Breathtaking scenery Gryphon. Where were these taken?

I agree.  Looks like Gryphon was somewhere other than home this weekend.

Not in Illinois either.  Illinois hasn't got much of anything really. There is some nice scenery in Galena. A lot of the problem is that in Illinois, most of the towns are spread out. We have a lot of small towns. I live 2 hrs from Peoria, and an hour from the Illinois/Iowa line. We don't have any scenery like that though. Those pictures remind me of some pictures, one of my regulars brought in to the restaurant last week. She had just gotten back from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

There's no fall so far here either.  It's still in the upper 80s during the day.

We've had quite a cool off here this week. A week ago today(last Sunday) it was 95*. This past week we've had days, that it only got in to the mid 50's all day.  :spooked: Right now it is 11:05 pm and it's 61*. We have some of the craziest weather here. It can be pouring down rain here, and 3 miles away the Sun is shining bright. In the Winter we can get a blizzard, and 10 miles away they don't have any snow. It's totally nuts, and it gets worse every year. It's like a weather time warp LOL!!!!

Don't expect much in the way of colors this year, especially in the drought stricken areas. The word I hear is that due to the low precipitation levels there are insufficient sugars in the trees to drive the brilliant colors we all love to see. (At least those of us that can see colors anyway).  :'(

We are getting some color now.....I'm ready for the cold weather.  I love snow.  I love fall as well.  We are finally getting cold nights and cooler days in WV/VA area.

That sounds about right.  :'( I love the beautiful colors of Fall. It's my favorite season. The grass is turning brown, but not much else here. If you count it, the pumpkin vines are starting to die. I've still got baby pumpkins setting on them though.  :spooked: Not sure what's up with that.

I used to really enjoy Winter weather, but the older I get the less I like it LOL!!!! I have arthritis, and mornings are a little rough sometimes, mostly the days when I open at the restaurant. We also moved out to the boondocks 3 years ago, so the driving on the country roads, can be treacherous. Wouldn't change a thing though.

Hey guys, sorry Im a few days late in answering this.
Loc...surprisingly I was only about 40 minutes from home. The border along North and South Carolina is gorgeous...these pictures were taken from the top of Glassy Mountain, which is about halfway between Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC. Most people think of the beach or the flatlands when you mention South Carolina, but the "upstate" is surprisingly like West Virginia.
The big problem here is that "fall" hardly exists. For the past few years, its stayed summer-like well into October...so the leaves end up blowing off before they really change much. Im going to miss the WV color this fall too...just too many things going on the next couple of weeks to make the drive to see it.
So hopefully some of my fellow Zoners will help me out and post some good colorful leaf pics!
