That's a smart way to do meals, Daisy. You do end up saving a lot of money and time, by doing it that way. I read somewhere, that if you plan your meals and make a list, prior to going to the store that you save more, because you're not impulse buying. (I guess). For me it's mostly true, but I always end up altering a meal in favor of something I can get a better price on.  Grocery shopping is a thorn in my side. I feel like I buy the same things over and over. I hate it.

I love grocery shopping. Sometimes a little too much. Food is one of our biggest expenses. I have tried to cut back, and we do a lot of making big batches and saving them (or try, since Hubby always pulls them out and cooks them!) but then when you make everything from scratch, it can get expensive. But its so much better!

And then, we have our fruit smoothie weekends where all we do is make fruit smoothies all day long with whatever I can find at the grocery store!

I love to grocery shop as well.......unfortunately I live in PoDunk, MS and don't have much as for selection so I kinda feel like Mrs. MoJo in that respect--always end up buying the same junk.
I try to buy something new each time I visit the grocery--usually it's a fruit--papaya, mango, etc.
Sometimes I'll try a new cooking or flavoring oil--I tried grapeseed last visit -- Conclusion:  too expensive and no real flavor--ahh, c'est la vie!
