I know, Dex; it is trivial.  My boss is soooooo damned cool, I shouldn't worry but hey--I've been working since I was 10 years old!  Old habits are hard to break--LOL

It'll be ok--one day at a time .....................
There's not one thing wrong with being devoted to your work T. It sounds like you've worked hard all of your life.  My job is worthless, but I still try to do to the best of my ability. My husband says I bring it home with me on Friday, and never quit thinking about it LOL!!!! Unfortunately I can't turn my brain off, when I hit the timeclock.

Gotta disagree about your job being worthless, Dex .... dealing with the public and good customer service is very, very difficult to find.  Just ask my hubby who is in retail.  He says it's a NIGHTMARE to find people who want to work!

Well, got through my treatment on Monday.   :bang:

Couldn't sleep the night before because the hot flashes are really, really getting severe ...... so I fell asleep around 7 am and my appointment was at 7:45 so I was late.

Usually I try to do myself up for my appointments but this time I only had time to shower and put on a do-rag!  Needless to say, I looked and felt like shit and all the nurses were greatly concerned cuz they've never seen me look so bad--LOL

There was a girl who was getting chemo for the first time and her hubby was there with her and she was a little nervous (I was eavesdropping) and I wanted to say something to her but I was soooooooooo sleepy that I passed out!

When I woke up, one of the nurses suggested that I give her a little pep-talk but all I could think about was how bad I looked and poor thing, if she took one look at me she would probably bolt outta there like a shot thinking that she would end up looking like me after 6 sessions!

So, I chickened out and didn't say anything.  Oh well, maybe next time   :-\

Anyway, the hot flashes are the worst of it--they're pretty severe and may or may not stop after chemo--we shall have to see

It sounds like for the most part you're doing real good T.  It probably would give that lady great comfort talking to you. She would see how strong you are, and your positive outlook on life, and your wonderful sense of humor. Sometimes, just a few words of encouragement, mean the world to people. I'm quite positive you looked marvelous. Beauty comes from within, and it shines out,and we don't even notice it ourselves, but others see it very clearly.

Nah, she would've enjoyed your company anyway. It would probably cheer her up, because you have an awesome sense of humor.

T, I really think you could help allot of people that have cancer. Your wisdom and courage can make a real difference, and help others. You have a very positive outlook, and you handle things, with a great sense of humor. You find laughter in the face of tragedy. I think you really can make a difference, to help others, through a horrible time in their lives. You need to talk to as many people suffering as you can, I know it will help them.

Have you and my hubby been talking?????

You sound just like him!  LOL

When I get my self together and really know what I'm talking about, I am really going to consider it.  At least start a support group with POSITIVE energy.

I stopped going to a local support group here cuz everyone was soooooooo down.  I can't have that.  Drives me to drink!!!

Sometimes it's best to avoid interaction, with people who are very negative. Other peoples suffering can drain your energy. I think it would be great if you started a support group. Make a stipulation that the members have to be positive, and upbeat. When a person gives up hope, they're doomed.

Went for my treatment yesterday.  I made up for not communicating well with the first-timer that was there last week.

A couple who were Eastern Indian came in for the first time.  The chemo room was severely understaffed and they were having to wait to get hooked up.  So was I.  So I helped her get her blankets and pillows and showed her and hubby how to work the tv and the remotes for the recliner.  He asked a lot of questions about length of therapy and stuff like that.  Was hard to give advice since they didn't speak English well.  But all in all I think they were satisfied.  I even showed them where they hide the good cracker basket!!!!  LOL

She has ovarian cancer and that means she has a lot of chemo to go through.  Poor baby--she has such a fab swathe of black hair and it's all gonna be gone in a few weeks.  I may bring her some caps next time I go.

Anyway, I'm doing good--blood work is well and I actually lost 3 pounds!  Don't know how but who's asking????

Two more treatments to go WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!1

See, you really are an angel. You help people soo unselfishly. It is very hard to communicate with people who speak a different language. I'm quite positive you helped her and her husband, through a very difficult day. You truly are a blessing.  :wings: I'm glad to hear your bloodwork is good. Two more treatments until that emoticon party, WooooooHooooooo!!!!  :sofa:
