Ev'ry year along about this time it all goes dry

Henry got pissed off and said he'd run to Mexico
to see if he could come back holdin'

Now the road to Acapulco is very hard indeed
and it isn't any better if you haven't any weed
Henry's driving hard and straight
on twisty mountain roads
there's fifty people waiting back
at home for Henry's load

And now he's rollin' down the mountain
going fast, fast, fast
and if he blows it this one's gonna be his last

Henry got to Mexico and turned his truck around
he's talking to the man who has it
growing from the ground

I have ate there. It is right down the street from Bunyans in Cicero, Illinois. Ogden Avenue and Austin Blvd. SW of that intersection about a block.  :biggrin:  And it is still there!

That's interesting.  The sign indicates that they have RC (cola for those who've never heard of it).  I used to like that many years ago, but haven't seen it, nor heard of it, in years.    Does anyone know if they still make it?

Indeed they do, and Henry's still serves it as a fountain drink!

Kroger (Payless here in Ander-tard) was selling it week before last when I was there.

When I was a kid they used to have a cruise night, where all the local muscle car enthusiasts used to come park and show their creations. Ogden Ave. used to be an unofficial drag strip too. The guys used to congregate in their lot after hours as well. . .  :smile:

Then the ugliness started with the coppers and gangs, blah, blah, blah. . .  :rolleyes:

It's actually a pretty decent and safe place to eat even today though. I have stopped in there this year and it was great. Bunyans is closed though - the old man died, which I believe I posted about somewhere else in the forum. . . Guy made the best Italian Beef I have ever had in my life.

Thanks PH.  I'm going to look for a site that offers online sales of RC.  I'd like to see if I like it as much today as I used to.
