I'd sure like to have your recipe for the crust. This is one area wherein I have zero capacity and the crusts I have made just don't hit the mark at all.
Same here. I often buy a ready- made crust but still need a good crust recipe.

A good crust needs the proper amount of salt.  ;D

Hahaha! Yes, never forget the salt.  I did that twice now. (Never make dough when you're tired! ) To remedy the situation, I sprinkled salt on the dough before I put the sauce on.  Came out perfect.

Started a new thread in the recipe section.  If you make it, let me know how it turns out!

Had company (family, 4 adults) from Friday until today, and on Christmas day made shepherd's pie for dinner. Hadn't even thought about it for a long time, but got out my big cast iron skillet and though I worried a little about getting just the right ingredients, it turned out really well. Everybody, including me, had seconds.

Christmas Day it was BBQ ham, finger foods (such as veggies, cheese and dips), salads and all sorts of candies, cookies and cakes.
Yesterday, I was tired of ham and we grilled burgers out.
I think today I may put some white beans to soak and fix white bean soup with ham and cornbread.

Are those the little beans, like navy beans?  I like ham and bean soup made with navy beans.  I never make it myself, I rely on Campbell's Chunky Ham and Bean soup when I have a craving for it.  (That's not too often as I don't really like beans that much.)
