I'm afraid that that IS the case my friend! She is a school teacher. Snow, closing schools, would give her a day to sew! It doesn't matter that her Love would have to work much harder on those days! LOL

Oh, Honey, you make me sound like a mean ol' witch.  Well, it doesn't matter how hard i wish for (pray for, do my snow dance, etc.) snow, it does not make it any more likely to happen.  Just think of it as a mental health day for weary school teachers. (and that is why I wish, pray, and do my snow dance!)

Wear your PJs inside out and backwards. It works.

In Maryland, I had a group of brownies and we had our meeting the night before a huge snow storm. The weathermen were predicting it days in advance and by the weather that day, it was more than likely going to happen. So, the girls were talking about it and I told them, if they wanted big snow and no school to wear their PJs inside out and backwards. The next meeting they were all hopping around me saying, "it worked it worked". LOL

It is a special type of vinyl flooring that is seamless and has a built in pad designed to protect a child if they were to fall. Carpet cannot be cleaned good enough to be kept free of germs when there are several children roaming on the floor, and linoleum would be too hard making it where a child could get hurt if they were to hit their head in a fall. The counter was an off the shelf item from Lowes, as were the base and upper cabinets. I just cut the counter to length and added the end trim piece to finish it.  I have received several positive comments from the nursery workers.

Our church has been growing for some time now and were contemplating a large building program. They decided to make the additions in stages as to keep the financial burden manageble and scale up along with the growth. I think it was a wise decision.

As part of the first improvements, we have been given the go ahead on a new project for our youth. We have a large room that the youth uses for their gatherings and it has a stage for their praise band to practice and play on. It is nice, but could be much better. We are going to greatly improve the room and add a coffee bar as well as some other improvements which are needed. I will get before and after pics for everyone.

We are also going to finish a large room that was not completed after our last addition to the church several years ago. It never got a floor and has been used for storage. We are going to make it into a nice youth room for the middle school aged youth and for junior church, as well as adding two bathrooms. It should be something the kids will enjoy after it is completed. The youth pastor and I are going to work up the materials list this week and start getting prices for the "bottom line".

Also I may be getting a new garage as well! Arghhh Arghhh Arghhh!  I gave them a proposal for a 60' X 100' garage with 4 bays to store all of our equipment and our busses in, as well as a maintenance bay to help make maintenance on our equipment easier. It is needed to give protection for our vehicles which are out in the weather 24/7 right now. They seem to be very interested in getting that done also.

And later as our growth continues, we hope to add a new auditorium that will be twice the size of our current auditorium. We can seat 400 now, but would be able to seat 900 in the proposed new facility. That may be a couple of years away, but the other projects will be worked on this year. I will get before and after shots of each project!

Here's what I came to work to this morning:

Had to use "the Boss" this morning to get the parking lot ready for church. I no sooner got the parking lot clear and salted, and the snow came on hard! It dropped a 1/2 inch on the lot in just a few minutes, but the sun came out shortly after and the salt and sun did the trick. We are supposedly going to see 4 to 8 inches today. We shall see!

Those are quite nice pictures Magistrate.  Kind of reminds me why I'm down here in Florida.  It's a bit chilly for us down here as well.  Current conditions:  Clear and 64 chilly degrees.  There is a 17mph wind blowing so it feels like it's in the 50s.  And yes, I have a jacket on.
