Try a Douglas fir. I've had very good luck with them.

took my tree down yesterday..........it was a real tree, that was losing pine needles like as fast as the women claiming to have affairs Tiger Woods....

It was a rather large tree, and I was ready for my living room to get back to normal.....
When we were using real trees we used to cut about an inch off the bottom and put 3 asprin in the holder and that kept it from losing needles as bad.  We always tried to find angel pines too which helped.

I stopped killing trees and instead chose to kill the environment with artificial trees.  :grinch:

We still try to scare away demons    by bringing greenery into the house at this time of the year.

And, yes, we are careful about the use of holly and mistletoe.

We've got cacti up the wazoo in our house. We even named them: Bullwinkle, Holmes, etc. . . .

Maybe I'll try to post a picture or two of them. Bullwinkle is about 5'3" tall! We got Holmes about 4 years ago when he was about 4 inches, he is now just under 3 feet tall.

Up until this year we've used the living trees. Even after we moved into an apt we'd get a living tree and just take it back. This year we went to the Christmas tree farm of a friend and now I'm feeling guilty for killing a tree :(

When the "shoe bomber" attempted to destroy an American Airlines Boeing 767 in 2001...everyone had to take off their shoes before passing through security at all airports...........NOW we have the "Underware Bomber"................ :spooked:
