You do realize that there are a large number of (ex) government workers currently unemployed; or don't you?

The number of federal employees grew by 123,000, or 6.2%, under President Obama, according to the White House's Office of Management and Budget.

More sour grapes.  You got a job and to hell with everybody else.  What else would I expect of you.  Skippy.

The current unemployment rate for government workers is around 5.2%. . . so are you saying it was at 11/4% under the repugnicans?

No, I am say that the number of federal employees grew by 123,000, or 6.2%, under President Obama...I stated this after you said to me that "that there are a large number of (ex) government workers currently unemployed"

No need to spin anything here.  The fed grew, and we don't have the money to pay for them.

They sure did and so did the population of the United States.

I am getting sick of this constant din of the United States is broke and we don't have and money.  The amount of debt America has is about as low as it has been, with relationship of the gross nation product.  When you take all of the money we have in assets and the money of the rich, this nation still is the richest country in the world.

The super rich own 40% of all of the treasure in this country.  If we decide to take half of it we would be completely debt free.  You're crying  needlessly Henry.

Troll, the bottom line is this.

and you can spin it all you want.

I made a comment regarding the title of this thread calling for 20% cuts in all departments........PH, stated "measures have to be undertaken in order to reign in expenses. The tax revenue stream is no longer there to support business as usual"
I said, we need to do so on the federal level.........

it was then said that "that there are a large number of (ex) government workers currently unemployed"

and that is when and why I stated a fact: the number of federal employees grew by 123,000, or 6.2%, under President Obama.

Had "me" or myself made such a statement, we would have been called out on it.  I am simply calling this one out.

the number of federal employees grew by 123,000, or 6.2%, under President Obama.

Make what you want out of it....but that is a fact.

So that means that we have 123,000 men and women working, eating, raising a family and making a living, paying over 30% in taxes.  Not another 123,000 unemployed.  :genius:  I got to say that the Hawk has the math or the arithmetic.  :haha:

Back to Anderson again.  You got your Republican Mayor.  He is wanting to cut everything, he want to cut the budget to the bone so let him.  That is what Republicans do, if you can't hurt the economy you kill it.  But, why in hell hasn't he knocked the Wigwam in the head.  It is a White Elephant and  it costs an arm and a leg to keep it and Anderson is broke, since the UAW broke it.  :haha:  :haha:

1. Anderson long ago expanded its city limits far beyond what it could actually provide city services for.  It was done to increase the tax base and essentially robbed the outliers within the city that never received the full benefit of the services being paid for.

2. Mayor Schmitty (and the German inference is intentional) shouldn't expect to be supported in his efforts to reduce public safety personnel due to the continued resentment from the above situation and his hypocrisy in budgetary matters by rehiring Winkler and their lil' ole' overseas trip to China.

3. The city's in a catch 22 because they can't get rid of Schmitty for another 3 years and the city cannot bear the financial brunt of reducing the city limits to a manageable size without a complete restructuring - even though it's a necessity.

4. City politics will not allow the restructuring of the mayor to a city manager - even though that's also a necessity.

The terms of the Firefighter's contract restricting the city from lowering the number of FF's employed have been thrown out by the court.

The city council tabled a vote on personnel issues, apparently until the court could rule on the FF issue.

There will now be hell to pay.

Yup. More union busting. . . I cannot wait until a court somewhere in this land convicts government of this crime.
