Either of you think there's a possibility for Peyton Manning in the management structure there?

There's probably less stress for him in just doing the commentator gig.
There are many rumors going around about Peyton becoming the GM.  Supposedly Bill Polian may be part of the package.  Polian has said numerous times that Manning would be an excellent GM and Polian is available to work along side him to do some mentoring.

I love this idea, but lets see if there is anything to it.

Makes you wonder if they are going to do anything now...........why should there be a waiting period?  Irsay should know IF he is going to fire by now.  I don't see the point of a waiting period.  Be man enough to SH!T or get off the pot!

You are talking about an addict. He likely has to clear his head, detox, and then think about it for a few days before making the call.

Clearly he's on the pills again, as it is evident in his appearance and demeanor.

His silence is deafening as he has tended to be like the Raging Cheeto when it comes to using to twitter to let the cat out of the bag. (I suspect both of them are heavily invested in that venue).  :roll eyes:

My view says if they ask him he will do it; and clearly Irsay has to do something to pull back the quickly drifting fan base in Indianapolis. (Market analysis indicates that season ticket holders were dumping tickets in droves in the 2nd half of the season this year. Many of them counted themselves lucky to be able to get face value for their seats in the after market).

I believe that Peyton Manning would serve as a quick way to get a percentage of the drifters back into the fold; solidly. Manning has, and continues, to do great things in this community that are non-football related. (He still has a home here last I heard). As a result a lot of the locals would turn out just to support him, and the team by proxy, and the franchise and league as well.

If Irsay doesn't do something quick, I would say the franchise will be hiring Mayflower again within 2 years. . .

I know you HATE Irsay, and probably justifiably so....the bottom line for me is this: Since Jim has taken over the responsibilities he has won 213 games and lost only 139.  That is a great football team.  He has given us great athletes to cheer for such as: Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Billy Brooks, Chris Hinton, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Jim Harbaugh, Edgrin James,  Mike Vanderjagt and Adam Vinatieri, along with Pat McAfee!!...some great coaches like Ted Marchibroda (sp) and Tony Dungy....A Super Bowl, which was awesome!....AFC South Division Championships - 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014....

So, despite his many personal issues, I kind of DIG this guy, who manages to keep Indianapolis very well represented as an NFL city!!

I guess I will wait as I did during this past election, and see what results....I have faith, that the big blue machine is going to get real exciting once again, very soon.

I don't "hate" him, I just think he's a chip off the old block. His father was a raging alcoholic, prone to knee jerk reactions. (Mayflower). He was also a bully of the worst sort. (Money=power). Jim learned many things from that and it is the only reason the team has done as well as it has. What he failed to learn, (And it was the most important lesson for him personally), was how a substance abuser can never earn the respect of a community and its leadership, and that substance abuse leads to faulty thought processes and decisions. (Not to mention the increased odds of meeting an early demise).

He had a shitty childhood that was entirely the result of his fathers substance abuse, but he turned that into a learning experience by "cleaning up" the emotional turmoil and relationship wreckage his fathers idiocy created. It served him well until he himself became a substance abuser.

I'd love nothing more than to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he can pull his head out of his ass and get back to being the smart and savvy franchise owner he could be. The reality is he is a wealthy substance abuser and that is a lethal combination; his wealth enables his disease. How many times will he go through rehab before he finally hits the wall and croaks? It's just a matter of time. . .

I have no doubt he is a kind, generous, and smart man. He just lets his addictions ruin it all and run his life. (And shame on his inner circle for not exercising tough love with him).

 The Colts have decided to retain Chuck Pagano and the rumor at this time, they will be keeping Grigson too!

Pagano, I can live with.......but Grigson MUST go, as far as I am concerned.......he is the worst GM the Colts has ever had........if you can't produce talent, the Coach can't produce a winning team.

How about that San Diego move going on now?!

The VERY thing every single "NFL City" is put through in order to keep their team; pay for a new palace for them to play within, or we're packing our shit and moving to another city that will. . .   (In this case a city that already has an NFL Team - L.A.).

What a crock of crap. . . And they wonder why they're losing their fan base?????

The Raiders will have to stay in Oakland now that the Chargers are moving.  The Raiders would have had the option to move had the Chargers not made the move, but that option was removed once the Chargers' decision was made.

The Oakland Raiders will remain the Oakland Raiders.
