Broncos squeak one out over the Ravens without a single offensive TD being scored by either team!

(Nice game to start off the NFL/WWF season. . . )

I am USUALLY the optimistic sort........BUT!

The Colts were extremely embarrassing yesterday!!!  :-[

I am not ready by any means throwing in the towel, but this is a tough season........you just don't have time to play sloppy in this game if you want to WIN.

TY Hilton is now OUT for a couple of weeks.....we play the Jets next week, which for all practical purposes, SHOULD be a W for the Colts, but NOW....One has to wonder.

If they don't get things going...this VERY WELL COULD BE A LONG SEASON IN INDY....

It is already a long season in Indy. . .

1. Pagano - stay or go? As Kravitz so aptly put it, the team needs to step up and either cut him or extend him; now. (My money says he goes but I do not profess to be inside the mind of the pill-head owner).

2. The offensive line is a leaky as a sieve, as is the defensive line against the run. A ground pounding on offense and blitzkrieg on the defense against them is a time-proven formula for success against the Colts. And yesterday proves nothing has changed there; nor is it going to this season. Every single team took notice of that train wreck yesterday, against a crappy opponent too.

3. The Colts waived their best wide receiver, and their nemesis (gag) the Patriots, (gag) signed him long enough to pick his brain and reap the bitter harvest of his being cast aside like a blight ridden crop by the Colts. So the jig is up on any "advantage" they may have thought they had surrounding trickery and timing plays.

4. The conflict (denied but readily apparent) between Grigson and Pagano is infecting that team like a giant malignant tumor, and Pagano is the lame duck coach that in all likelihood cannot do a damned thing about it due to this conflict. But he'll be the scapegoat. It's just a matter of who is out there and available that will determine whether or not he goes now, or during the final 4 games of the season. . .

In my opinion, Kravitz is over-rated and a moron.

I think people are making TOO much over this one loss.  Pagano has won 33 out of 45 regular season games.

They have went 11-5 every year he has been there, getting one game better each post season.

Last year the lost their first two games....then won 11 and lost 3

In 2012, they lost the opener to the BEARS....then lost to Jacksonville in game 3, yet had a very good season.

I don't know what the thought is in the front office, but firing Pagano would be a HUGE mistake in my opinion.

I think, they need to be knocking on the door at Levi Stadium this year to participate in Super bowl 50.

If they come up short of winning 11 games, then I say it is time to think about replacing Chuck, but until then, I am 100% behind this guy.

Kravitz is not calling for his firing, nor am I . What we are both saying is the man deserves to know his fate surrounding his future with this team, so that he can focus on getting what is broken fixed.

The failure to address this issue is a huge distraction for Pagano and the team, and it is clearly exacerbating the entire situation.

My money says they'll string him along and eventually fire him; making him the scapegoat for a dismal showing this season. Not that he deserves it in my view, but that is what will happen. Just watch. Kravitz sees it too.

I don't care for Chuck, I think he's a mediocre coach at best, but he can only work with the talent Irsay and Grigson provide him - and they're not providing him much.

I happen to like Luck and sincerely wish he'd get away from Irsay and the Colts so he can have a career.  Peyton, even with his amazing stats, hasn't had the Super Bowl winning career he might have had he been with a more completely rounded team.

Right, wrong, or indifferent, Pagano made a bad career decision in publicly chastising Luck, and/or Grigson. . .

My guess is he's a goner if they lose their next game. . . Especially if he continues on his present track of ripping the franchise QB and Grigson.

That being said, I personally believe that what is wrong with the Colts now is what was wrong with them when they had Manning at the helm; little to no protection on the offensive line. It eats away at the QB's ability to find an open receiver, and no matter how quickly he can get the ball out of his hands, it does nothing if the target isn't open.

It's the purpose behind the blitz, and it has worked with great impact against the Colts for years. . . And works better with a QB/receiver combination that has little experience together. Timing isn't established, routes are not down, and the level of trust between the QB and receivers has not been established. (That is a goal of camp - which is an epic fail in this case. And the responsibility for this rests squarely upon the coaches; and the head coach in particular.)

As to the long term failure surrounding the offensive line and defense; a coach can only work with what he/she is presented with. If the skills are not there, if the work ethic is not there, there is little to no room for improvement. And the responsibility for that raw material lays squarely upon Grigson. . .

Can the Colts be successful with what they have? Probably. But there is a ton of work to be done and quickly. Something a 1 year contract isn't doing much toward surrounding incentive. And then there is the high level of risk it places the QB into. Quick-release schemes can work, but only if you have a set of running backs that can gain yards consistently. And only if you are willing to endure a high level of turn-overs and pick 6's until you get there.

The Colts are in a weak division, so they have that on their side. They statistically can achieve wild-card status while sucking for Luck, IF their divisional opponents cannot impose the blitz with effect against them.

I don't count on that happening though. You can bet the farm that each and every single divisional rival has the blitz scheme high on their play list. So the Colts are going to see that each and every week for the rest of the season.
