For what it is worth.....

I'm not sure why I am wasting my time trying to explain myself to those who clearly do not see eye to eye with my ideology of what is best for this Nation.  Let me rephrase this a tad more.  It should be to those on the zone, besides an extremely select few that are not on the opposing side of mine.  Heck, let's just get right down to it.  We have the Troll, Palehorse, Sandy, Y, locutus and one undisclosed member that I will not give credence to (you can do the math).  Me and I ususally agree with each and are on the same wavelength and have built a great relationship.  Troll and I do not agree with pretty much everything, but I do have respect for.  I understand his background and I completely understand his sense of humor.  He is passionate about his beliefs; therefore I have no real problems with him.  I take his personal attacks with a grain of salt.  Sandy, Y and Palehorse and Locutus are ones that I have known the longest.  We have all had some lengthy discussions, and at times even become heated...but at the end of the day, I believe we were able to have mutual respect for one another.

With that all being said, I have crossed the line with one of the above mentioned by name, which I will remain anonymous at this point.  This person will know to whom I am referring too.  Sometimes, I get too caught up in some of these discussions, and while trying to respond, while I am at work.  (I am fortunate enough to be able to have a certain amount of freedom at my job that allows me to interact on here and fulfill my obligations at work) it does not allow me to fully digress some of my opinions in the fashion I wish that I could do.  It sometimes leaves me somewhat frustrated that I am not able to offer an explanation that justifies what I may have posted.  That alone is not my excuse, but a reason to which may have led to my personal attack upon this person.  I have also let some of the personal attacks upon myself get the best of me too.  I admit, I am not innocent of behaving in a fashion that I am not proud of, over the last few months.  I have lowered myself to a level of another on here that shames me to even admit to.  I made some issues personal.  In corresponding with this person I have said some things in haste and malice.

I have had the opportunity to develop a "friendship" with this person over the years of my posting and sharing on forums.  I may have very well ruined it.  I have always tried to be myself on here, and have been successful for years.  I have not done so the last few months though and because of that, I am truly ashamed.

I have tried to walk away from this place a few times now.  I always seem to come back.  I can not understand for the life of me....WHY?  WHY is it so hard to leave this place?  After all, I am well outnumbered by the number of individuals on here who do not share my beliefs.  I certainly have come to the conclusion that I am not going to reverse any of the logic imbedded into these folks.  I am pretty sure that I am to much of a  hard head and extremely set in my ways to allow them to inflict their personal beliefs upon me that would amount to a hill of beans.  I believed at one time I could accomplish such tasks on here....I was only fooling myself.

For now, I am going to try my best to not interact with political discussions.  I have already slipped.  I no longer have a desire to fire shots at one another, or allow myself to get into a position where I may say things I will regret.  I am planning on reading threads...and perhaps join in on the non-political topics.  I really do enjoy the members of this forum and would like to continue to build the relationships that I have not already ruined....for what it is worth.

Well Hank maybe you need a little rest.  I know it would be hard for me to take the abuse you have taken for your wrong headed thinking.  I got to say one thing, your one tough bird. :chick:

You get some rest because you haven't seen anything like what is coming up in this next election.  The dirt, scum, trash, back biting and lies that are really going to get bad.  It is going to be the worse election fight I have every seen.

I don't want you out of the fray, I want someone close to chew on and that would be you.  Nothing like a tough old chicken hawk, pressured cooked for an hour with noodles and mashed potatoes.  Even pressured cooked at 15psi for one hour, you would still be tough.

Thanks troll....I appreciate your remarks.........I, uh...think?....

I have days I hate this place and days I don't mind it so much...and then there are times I love it....

Some times I think you don't have a skin, but boiler plate for skin.  I know you have a head of boiler plate and I enjoy fighting with you.  But buddy you need to grow a little tougher skin.  Some time back when you were pouting and on vacation the Zone became a quiet place and just boring.  You know a small town with one lawyer, the attorney would die of starvation and boredom.

Troll, I have fun with you too.....I think some of the personal attacks is un-called for, and I ususally just ignore it and move on.....there are times I get frustrated over an issue, that YOU guys clearly miss my point and start in with what I call "needless bashing".....then I lower myself and act in ways I wish I would not.....I ususally try to take the high road...and I choose my battles.....

and YES, it would get rather boring around here if me or myself just let you guys have a liberal fun fest without calling you out on those issues...

Troll, tell me, what is it about this place that keeps us coming back for more?.............I cannot figure it out, but I keep coming back.  I know there are better things I can be doing besides, listening to Ex brag about his life or Dan Foster say anything.

Why do you stick around here?

White House Pressure for a Donor?
Sep 15, 2011 12:24 AM EDT

The Pentagon has worried for months that a project backed by a prominent Democratic donor might interfere with military GPS. Now Congress wants to know if the White House pressured a general to change his testimony.

The four-star Air Force general who oversees Air Force Space Command walked into a highly secured room on Capitol Hill a week ago to give a classified briefing to lawmakers and staff, and dropped a surprise. Pressed by members, Gen. William Shelton said the White House tried to pressure him to change his testimony to make it more favorable to a company tied to a large Democratic donor.

The friendship stands. . .undaunted.

Harsh words were spoken on both sides of the issue, and for my part I also truly apologize.

From my perspective it never happened.

Just an attempt to explain my thoughts to my peers on the zone.

It is like this for me, I read a lot of websites, blogs, CNN, Fox, drudge...I listen to the radio when I get the opportunity to do so. I am on another forum like site with folks of strong beliefs from both sides. I have many conversations with co-workers and family regarding religion and politics....I love hearing opinions and expressing my own.

What I don't like are people who claim they have empirical evidence and everything else is garbage. Such as the IPCC, who has been in trouble of its own with some faulty claims, but yet to some on here, they hold empirical evidence. That is just ONE example.

What I also don't like, and I am guilty on here too, is the constant attack and low blows. I have been called an idiot, stupid, dumbass,  a liar, a moron and on and on and on. Some folks on here, well that is just their style, and I accept that, and move on. But, when a friend attacks me (not pointing to anyone in particular) on my religious beliefs, puts down my God, I do find it offensive, but I understand that I am in an area where that is acceptable and if a person can't take it, they can leave. I choose to stay, so this is not a whine, it is just an attempt to explain my motivation to my rebuttals.

As far as to some who believe they are wasting their time to explain their points of view with me.......then quit attempting to do so. I never ASKED you to try to convince me that I may be wrong.....I do read what you say, and there have been times where I had to go back to my drawing board and re-evaluate my thoughts.......I am going to continue to call out liberal Bull shit when I see it....I will post MY views on why I agree or disagree with certain issues.....I love coming here, because I am CHALLANGED to dig and research my thoughts to support why I believe a certain way.

I can honestly say, that I really do like EVERYONE on here (the regulars anyway)...I have had phone conversations with some, I have met first hand with some, I have ate with some, I have exchanged emails and facebook with some, I have helped some out with some personal problems. I am if anything else, very sincere and true to anyone on here. I will ALWAYS give my honest opinion, and I will always be there for anyone who asks me to be.  ALWAYS.

Okay, there, I got it off my chest.....I don't expect anyone to respond, and I'm good with anyone who wants to tell me what they think....just be honest.
