Somewhere Dan Wheldon is smiling and pumping his fist this afternoon. His good friend Dario Franchitti wins the 500, with another good friend Tony Kanaan coming in 3rd.

Dario's face will now reside on the Borg Warner Trophy alongside his friend Dan Wheldon. A friendship immortalized!

I have to admit that this brought a tear to my eyes!

We have had two house to be blown up by natural gas.  One the woman of the house was house cleaning.  She disconnect the space heater and didn't shut of the gas.  BOOM! Blew out all four walls and the roof came straight down.  She was in the house and was unhurt. :@#%&: :help:

The second house blow up was cause by a gas leak in the alley behind the house.  The owner sat down and lit up a cigarette and BOOM!  The gas company bought them a nice new house out in the country and the owner got off with singed hair and eyebrows and nothing less that a sunburn.  Very lucky.
That made me think of my dear little mother and something that happened many years ago. I had just moved to a place in town which had a gas stove in the kitchen. My mother was visiting and I explained how to light it if she wanted to cook something. When I got home from work that day, she said, "I don't like that stove. It took me a while to light the eye and when I did that stove jumped off the floor!"  I managed to keep a straight face and not yell, while silently saying a prayer of thanks that I still had a house and a live mother.

I was hoping for Kanaan or Franchitti, and with Dario playing lead change off with Dixon for the latter half of the race I was on the edge of my seat. . . But I am VERY happy with the results of this years race.

Now, if only I could get my hands on a set of those Wheldon glasses they gave out!  8)

Franchitti's take for yesterdays win = $2,474,280 from an overall purse of $13,285,815.

Wheldon's take for the 2011 victory = more than $2.5 million from an overall purse of $13,509,485

I wonder why the drop in overall purse?

  Is there any cops with brains and common sense.

Cleveland Ohio,  John Davis is given a ticket by an overzealous cop.  A $344 ticket with court cost up to $500 for littering.  John pass a disabled homeless man sitting on the sidewalk and John threw two dollar bills on the ground next to him.

What in hell was this dumb ass cop thinking.  If John had dropped two dollar bills on the ground anywhere in Cleveland those bills probably not even hit the ground before there were snatched up.

If I was John Davis I would demand a jury trial with a jury of my peers.  Just how stupid can cops be.  I noticed they didn't give the cops name.  What a total idiot.

Just got finished watching the History Channel's "Hatfields and McCoys", and I stepped outside and can hear fiddles and banjos from the Casino's "Country Throwdown" event. . .

Better go fetch my shotgun maw.
