Me, too. I will try to stay far away from  those tanks (if they are still on the agenda -- ordered by our POTUS) -- .

I hope you didn't have to hear or see Trump speech.

I didn't have to  but tried to listen to it.  He obviously didn't use the writers who usually do write the speeches.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Dolly Parton looks like a meat puppet?

Yeah she admits if it wasn't for make up and surgeries she would scare the hell outta her fans!
I like her! She is an entertainer like we never had before...

Considering how old she is, really she doesn't look too bad. Still I would like to have some money like she has, and she has earned it.  :music1:  :guitarist:  :music1:

I went to check in the other day and it wasn't available, or something to that effect.  Glad to see it's still operating.   As for myself, I don't have the time to be on here like I used to, but if there's a subject I feel like contributing to, or even make a wise ass comment, I do try.

I work a long and shitty shift, and spend 3 hours of my day driving to and from the place I work the shitty shift at. I'm lucky I have time for a bowel movement and the paperwork it requires. . . But I do drop in as often as I can. . .

When man has a shitty job and they are down and sick of the shitty job.  There is no better time to go look for a new good job.     It seems to be a fact that if you have a job it is easier to find another.  It's something to think about.  They are hiring at the axle plant in Anderson and surly they might need some supervisors.  Hummmmmmm?

I remember when I started working I was working for Brockway Glass Co. in Lapel. Had a good job as a ware tester.  They had a summer slow down and I was told I had to be a all-jack loading boxes on skids to be put on trucks, for two weeks for shipment (shitty job).  I told my Superintendent I didn't want to do that and if I could find a job I would quit.  He said, you aren't going to quit. Next morning I went to Ford Motor co in Indianapolis and was hired on the spot.  I called when I got back to Lapel and I said. "Harry, I quit, I got a job at Ford."  Worked for Ford 38 years.  I got to retire at 59 and I have been retired from Ford 22 years and they haven't missed one retirement check.

Yeah, I agree. Problem is supervisory pay in Madison County and the surrounding (collar) counties is severely depressed. At least 40% less than I made as a sup 13 years ago. I am working as a Pharmacy Operations Manager and the job itself is great. The hours are shitty, the commute is shitty, and I have no life because of that. But, I am making a lot better compensation compared to similar positions in Madison County and the collar counties. Which is why I keep working shitty hours. . .

With a little luck and perseverance, I will only need 5-7 years more before I can flip them all the bird and join you in the land of retirement.

But I remain on the lookout for something a lot closer to home and with similar or better compensation levels. In which case I may work a while longer if I ever find such a position. (I'm not holding my breath) .

I fear the days of finding a better job as quickly and easily as you did are in the past. There was a time when I was able to do that very same thing with great success, but subsequent acquisitions, mergers, or closings made me have to find other employment; which like you I was able to do easily. Not so easy to do these days. . . In at will and right to work states anyway.
