Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

What in the hell were they thinking?

Shakira sing's John Lennon's "Imagine" to the pope?????

While I can understand the overall altruistic message of that song, and how it fits in with the pope's concerns along those lines, there are some references to heaven, hell, and religion that the pope may have found distasteful.

It's not a choice I would have made.

Yes. Although to the Pope's credit, he just endured it without comment. I don't think the people who planned that had any idea of the references to religion in the song. Or they are too stupid to understand them.

Fortunately he doesn't speak English.

Speaking of the Pope ... has anyone else seen all the whining from the so-called Christian right about the Pope not mentioning Jesus during his address to the Congress?

Do they really think he was there to give a sermon?

He does, but the other day he said "It's not my forte."

Musicians, what about this idea?  I personally think it's great!

Would that be the only source of payment? I don't know about that. I'd rather work under a contract. I don't think the clientele in the places I used to play would be very big tippers.

I don't know about that.  I was under the assumption that this would be similar to a "tip jar" that a lot of bands have in clear view when performing.  I also assumed that the proprietor of the establishment would be paying them some sort of engagement fee.  I thought it was a nice way to allow for customers to tip the band with something other than cash.

Something other than cash? Hmmmm ...  I could go for that!  :icon_twisted:
