Had a wonderful visit last night.....I danced with my Dad, he was younger and had so much light in his eyes. It was brief,  I awoke with a start, like popping back, but with a wonderful smile on my face and in my heart!

There are so many types of dreams it would overload the server for anyone to try to post a definative entry on the subject; so for the sake of this post lets just define all dreams as "dreams".

Dreams

Many people dream, in fact all of us do at one time or another. Some dreams consist of horrible things, and others are fantasy like; taking us to places we have only seen in movies. Some of them are prophetic in that they deliver to us messages that pertain to our life-path, or to our personal well being or that of a loved one; sometimes even warning us of impending catastrophes or death, and still at other times even warning us of great fortune to come. But there are "dreams" that are something else entirely.

Visitations

Ever have one of thsoe dreams where "Uncle Jerry" was there, and everything was so vivid within this dream that you awakened remembering every lasty detail of it? Or you may have awakend with this overwhelming emotion of being loved, or missing the person you were dreaming about. THIS was no ordinary dream my friends, this is what is known as a visitation.

Our departed ones come to us most often within our dreams because of several factors within our waking life that makes it more difficult for them to do so. Most of us are not very recepetive to visitations within our waking hours. Traffic, the phone, the kids, the wreck outside that just happened, the sirens; there are far too many other things overwhelming our senses to allow most of us to be open to such an event. Those that are have had to work very hard toward the development of this ability, and still others were born with it and never lost it. When we sleep our bodies shut down, blocking out the background noises and drifting away toward rest. Our minds become more aware and open to out of the ordinary things that we would either ignore or not pay the slightest attention to when we are awake. THIS is prime time for our beloved ones who have crossed over.

Usually they will not appear to us as we last remember them; sick and in hospice or the hospital, or fraile with the life-light fading within thier eyes. No, they come to us as we remember them within our fondest and most precious memories of them, and frequently this is within the "prime-years" of their life here on earth; around the age of 30 years or so. Sometimes this confuses us initially, but when you feel the warmth of their love and protection you will instantly forget all of these material things and become enthralled within the visitation that is your "dream". They come for a variety of reasons, but foremost among these is a mutual assurance that everything is okay; for them and for you. These types of visits typically take place the first or second time they come to you after physical death.

Within subsequent visitations they may bring you news, another relative that has crossed over, or offer counsel on whatever crises may be negatively impacting you at that point in time. But in each and every case they come to you in eternal love, caring, and compassion.

Those vivid "dreams" you can remember to this day, though you may have experienced them a week, month, or years ago; those are visitations.

Astral Travel

Ever had a reocurring dream? One wherein you arrive at the same place each and every time? You wake up saying I know this place but I cannot remember where I've seen it, or when I've been there before! Usually when you awaken from this type of a "dream" you find yourself feeling tired and unrested, as if you had only been to sleep but for a few moments. . .

This isn't your run of the mill ordinary dream my friends, this is called astral traveling! Your spirit packs your bags and you boogie on over to the other side! The place you keep going to is almost certainly YOUR home on the other side. That's why it is so familiar to you but you just cannot place it in your waking mind. Your soul/spirit knows where home is on teh other side, and we get "homesick" for it from time to time.

This type of travel always involves crossing a body of water of some type. This body of water and your method of crossing it are a direct indication of the ease and power with which your spirit is able to go zooming. For some of us it is an ocean that we cross aboard an ocean liner or plane, but most frequently it is a bridge of some type. You know the one I'm talking about here. That bridge where it is misty or foggy on the other side of it, but you can sense somebody is there. (There is somebody just ont he other side waiting to welcome you too). Sometimes the mist is light or almost not there. (Another key indication of the strength and skill your spirit is obtaining in accomplishing this trip as well).

Still others, (and this is the one I always have myself), find that this body of water is but a trickling stream that is so shallow you can walk right through it, or so narrow you just step over it. In any case, once you cross that body of water, you have arrived at your home on the other side!

Those of us that use the bridge will find loved ones waiting to greet you. They smile and hug you, some have tears of joy streaming down their cheeks. And they all want to take you somewhere, (thier place or perhaps the hall of records- Another subject for the future). They will each seem very excited to see you and welcome you home. You may not recognize some of these people, but they are your family too, on the other side. . . (Still another future subject).

Typically when my spirit puts on those walking shoes I cross that stream and find myself on my farm there. Dad is very busy tending to the livestock, mending the fences, and just making sure the place is in top shape for my visits and future arrival there. It is a big place and he has some surprises in store for me.

I've been to his place too, and though it is quite a distance from my own, we always make the trip there together and in what seems like only a moment to me. (Usually we get there around the time the blasted alarm starts buzzing at o'dark-thirty! But I've seen a bit of his place already adn it is wonderful!)

Pops crossed over in 2000, and yet I have been dreaming about this place since I was a child. I never knew what it was until he had passed and I was introduced to this topic by Sylvia Brownes book, "Life On The Other Side".

If you've been there and you read her book it will definately help you understand what is happening, and how to develop your ability to get there; turning that bridge over a raging river into a small trickling stream.

Anyway, I babble so I'll just turn this thing over to you for awhile. If you've read this far you must be interested. So lets talk about it!

I remember many years ago, a little over 11 years ago, I was really upset over the passing of a close friend the year before. I visited his grave one day and sat there for at least an hour, talking. I told him how much we all missed him and how I wished I could have what he and his fiancee had before he died. They loved eachother so much, and were expecting their first child 6 weeks after he passed away. He never did know that the baby was a girl. Anyway, later that night I had a dream that I still remember vividly, where he was sitting on the side of my bed telling me that things were going to be okay for me, that I would have those things too, when the time was right. I remember feeling soothed and calm.

About a month later, I found out that I was pregnant with my first son. My fiance at the time (and ended up being my first husband) had been best friends with the friend who had passed away, and I told him about the cemetary visit and the dream. He was disturbed but also soothed at the same time.

We ended up naming our son Matthew Timothy, taking our friend's name as our son's middle name. And without a doubt he has Tim's hair...Neither Mike nor I have hair quite THAT thick that grows THAT fast. We used to laugh because Tim needed a haircut at least every 2 weeks, and Matthew is the exact same way.
