Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughn...

I prefer Jimmy.  IMHO, Stevie was the ruination of the blues.  All the variety and subtleties of the blues turned into an army of SRV clones.  I actually see the adoration of SRV as inherently racist.

...and just to pizz the rest of you off... ...IMHO Kiss was the ruination of rock and roll, flash over content.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa

In a strange sort of way, I follow what your logic.  Though I like some of SRV's stuff, he was no Albert Collins, but to say he was the ruination and racist may be a bit extreme....I think there are many above him, and I will say that Eric Clapton can be sitting right in smack in the middle of the best of the greatest ever, and not think race has anything to do with it.  He is just damn good.  I love listening to the blues!
