Magistrate

Hello to all of my old friends!
I am sorry that I haven't had much opportunity to stop in for a visit. I have had many surprising and exciting changes occur in my life over the last 2 years. I had been working as Maintenance Director at my church and as much as I enjoyed the job, my income was never going to allow my precious wife to retire from teaching. So, I made the decision to leave that position and start working with a contractor installing fences. It paid enough to allow my wife to retire and our quality of life stayed the same. On Jan 1, 2010, I received a call from my boss telling me that he could not afford to have employees and let myself and two others go. I had a difficult decision to make regarding our future. We decided to give it go on our own, by trying to get my own contractor's license and start our own business. It came into being on Jan 21st 2010 as CET Contracting Inc. I hired the other 2 people who were now unemployed and we went to work! In the previous year, we did a total of 90 fences for that year. It seemed like a very good year, however, since our first job as CET Contracting in March of this year; we have already completed more than 103 fences! God is good! My schedule has stayed booked solid all year at least 4 weeks out, and as much as 6 weeks out. I am currently booked through the first week in December! I am very thankful that our first year in business has been such a great success!
In the coming election, one Magistrate seat came open due to a retirement, and I had the chance to run for that seat. It would be a full time job, so I decided not to run for Magistrate again, because I had just started my own business and would not be able to do both. I guess God had other plans!
In September I lost a friend who was serving in the WV legislature as a delegate in the House. He was a good man who worked very hard for the people of southern WV! His name was Mike Porter. I received a call at 9pm on Oct 7th, asking me to go on the ballot in his place. I was surprised and very honored. I accepted and am on the ballot for Nov 2nd! I hope that I will win the seat for Mike. If I do, I will work extremely hard for southern WV, just as Mike did! Serving in the Legislature is possible even with my own business, since I can adjust my schedule around legislative sessions. This could work very well for us to serve the people and still have a successful business!
I appreciate your checking in on me and hope that I will be able to pop in on a more regular basis. I guess I need to change my name huh! LOL
Have a wonderful day my friends and PLEASE, investigate all of the candidates on your election ballots and make your voices heard with your vote!
    God Bless!
