QuoteSpeaking to a group of Orthodox Jewish leaders in Borough Park, Paladino noted how he boycotted the Gay Pride parade Democratic foe Andrew Cuomo marched in, along with his daughters, this summer.

"There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homoxsexual," he said. "That's not how G-d created us, and that's not the example that we should be showing our children -- and certainly not in our schools."

Not suprisingly, Paladino said he would veto any legislation that seeks to legalize gay marriage in New York.

"I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don't want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option," he said. "It isn't."

Calling himself the "religious values candidate," he said "I will not support immoral legislation."

While I feel that homosexuality holds no appeal to me personally, I have become much more tolerant as I grow older. I can also fully understand a gay man who wants his sexual preference to remain a secret. What I cannot understand is a practicing homosexual, or bi-sexual, man who preaches and leads protests against gays. Like that mega church pastor, Eddie Long, who was recently accused of recruiting young males in the church for his playthings. All the time you read about these hypocrites who rally to protest gay rights but under the cloak of secrecy are actively participating in homosexual relationships.

American soldiers training the Afghanistan soldiers from Pashtun tribe, located on the Pakistan border,  report that these men actively participate in homosexual relations with young boys. While they are practicing Muslims, they excuse their actions by saying that, since their is no love involved, only sex, they cannot be considered homosexuals. Another soldier wrote that the company's interpreter told him that homosexual relations among the Pashtun men is accepted until they reach the age of 30, after which they are expected to marry and follow a hetrosexual lifestyle.

Maybe American men like Eddie Long think along similar lines to excuse their actions.  Like abortion, I don't personally feel that the homosexual lifestyle follows the scripture but overeating and drunkenness is  just as sinful. and we all sin in some way. If a person decides to live a sinful lifestyle that does not involve an unwilling partner or causes physical or emotional harm to anyone else, it is not for me to judge them. I have enough problems trying to keep on the path of righteousness and fail miserably, much less try to stick my nose in other people's personal lives. I do however have a problem with leaders, like a preacher or elected politician for example, who publicly condemn others for doing something they practice themselves in secret such as homosexual behavior. I am wrong and should forgive the hypocrite but that is another one of my many faults.
What the Hell is a signature? Am I supposed to type something in this box? I guess I'll find out.

First of all, he claims he never used the word, dysfunctional.  His comments was regarding the fact he finds the " bumping and grinding " that goes on with the "gays" during a "gay parade" along with many of them wearing speedo's...that he finds to be dysfunctional and discusting.  And THAT is where I draw the line also.  I do not want that to be condoned as an acceptable lifestyle for my kids.  No more than any promiscuous lifestlye.  For me there is right and wrong....period.  I have nothing against any homosexuals, who are adult like and serious about their relationships.  On the same note, I find hetrosexuals to be dysfunctional, who practice "cheating" on their spouses or those out to simply "score" for bragging rights.  As a Christian, I believe God did not intend for us to behaive in such a manner.
I have more respect for an elected leaders to speak out at such actions, rather than just condone it for votes.

How ever misguided you are, having an opinion or feeling on the topic is your right, Henry. Although I'd dare say there's very little you can do about your children's choices once they leave the nest. Our public officials should keep their personal prejudices to themselves. Afterall, homosexuals pay their salaries too. I don't see them refunding the money.

I never said my children would not have their own choices after leaving the nest. But, until then, I will guide them the way "I" best see fit.  Our public officials also have every right to express their opinions and beliefs, and IF, those who listen and disagree can simply NOT vote for them.  I do not find that being prejudice, to speak out against people wearing speedo's and bumping and grinding in public, while they are DEMANDING that people take them serious.

Why am I not surprised that you'd be supportive of discrimination?

He's a public official who harbors discriminatory thoughts (which is bad enough), but you said that he has a right to "express his opinions and beliefs" which he does based on the 1st amendment. If he is the type of person who would discriminate against any segment of society and basically brag about it, then he has no place in public service.

BTW, I couldn't care less if you "argue" or not. A discussion is a two way exchange of ideas and it's never been that way with you. You share yours and dismiss everything else.

The Troll

I get so sick of all of this phony bullshit that everything has to revolve around the "THE CHILDREN".  like in the news paper.  In a bombing today "100 men and women and old people and "ONE CHILD" what a shame the ONE CHILD was killed.

While all of us adult are to give up what we enjoy for someone else's kid.  It really tickles me and I have seen it so many times.  Some parents work off their ass  protecting their child from everything they think is bad.  Only to have the meanest rottenest kid in the neighborhood who makes everybodies lives miserable.  I've seen so many times.

I have always, ALWAYS, valued others opinions on here, until a few decided it was more fun to call names, and put down others, simply because I/we, did not concur with the emperical evidence that was ALWAYS 'deemed' by my liberal counterparts...so, THIS is the way I roll now...take it or leave it...i really don't care.

What people do behind closed doors is not my business or anyone else's. (Unless it infringes upon my rights or the rights of others, or their safety). If you do not want to see individuals who practice an alternative lifestyle in their parade, don't go to it. Its always well advertised and so you should be well aware of where and when they are scheduled to take place. Pretty simple really. . .

At this very moment I am watching news coverage that is highlighting the obscene messages of supposed "Christians" who are protesting the gay protest of a bakery's decision to refuse service to a gay organization. . .

Well, gee, Hank, how do you feel about the bumping and grinding that goes on during a pole dance, with many of the participants wearing pasties and a thong? Or on the sidelines of high school sporting events, with the participants wearing tiny little skirts and tops that show their tummies? For that matter, I believe bumping and grinding is an integral part of the Branaman Street Strut held during the WC Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival in Henderson every summer. And the best strutter (I'm pretty sure that includes bumping and grinding -- it always did when I competed) is named the Grande Oop-Pee-Do and gets the best seat in the house at all subsequent events. Is it just speedos to which you object, or do you find all bumping and grinding distasteful? And if so, why?

Come on PH, you know that the Rainbow is God's promise to us poor earth bound souls, that he isn't going to kill all of us again, except for a few special  people of his who can build a boat.  Hell God even provided a blueprint for it.
