Obstructionist republicans block progress

Even before the president took office, republicans began hammering on Mr. Obama, questioning his citizenship, of all things.  Since then, the party has been unified in opposing every initiative, all legislation, and every idea put forward by the administration.

For instance

although it was former president Bush and the republicans who got the ball rolling on the bail-out of Wall Street, the moment Mr. Obama took office, that became a really bad idea that irresponsibly increased the deficit.

It was, after all, Mr. Bush and the Republican Party that declared war on terrorists and launched two extraordinarily costly military offensives while simultaneously cutting taxes for the rich.  The impact of these policies on the federal debt and the deficit has been predictably detrimental.

The so-called "debate" over health care reform has been derailed by a transparent tactic embraced by the Republican Party to frighten the American people.  The ridiculous notion that it is a socialist plot to reallocate vast sums of money so every American has access to health care is as baseless as it is disingenuous.

republicans have tied the legislative process in knots, opposing practically every reform and neglecting virtually every responsibility of that branch of government.

Typical!

When you fail in a debate, you resort to stupid little pictures. Really shows your intelligence.

according to wiki:

The Washington Post has described Brookings as centrist and liberal. The Los Angeles Times described Brookings as liberal-leaning and centrist before concluding these labels made no sense. In 1977, Time Magazine described it as the "nation's pre-eminent liberal think tank". Newsweek has described Brookings as centrist while Politico has used the term "center-left."

Hawk are using Wiki for your information.  It seems to me that not to long ago you criticized my using Wikipedia.  Which is right me using it or you using.

Here is the bottom line as far as I am concerned....Since at least, the Bush II days, the minority power becomes what is known as 'obstructionists'.
The dems did it...then the repubs did it.  Both parties has made it a political ploy to deter progress by the other party.
Is it wrong?  To me it really sucks, but that is what happens when career politicians gain to much power....it is NOT what is best for America, but rather what is best for the party.
Another reason why Obama is NOT the right person in charge right now.....we need leadership.  Obviously, I am in favor of anyone on the right.  But, I can honestly say, that Bill Clinton, though I disagreed with him on many issues, had great leadership ability.  He was able to work across the aisle.  Obama has done nothing but point fingers and find blame on everyone but himself.
I don't know if Romney is the answer on not.....but, I think new leadership is vital.

as I said, the bottom line is I want our economy be robust once again.

Please provide specific examples.

Fixed this for you.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

What did you say, Bush II, who is Bush II and since I haven't heard the name of George W., who are they, were they great intelligent men?

Was there a president between Clinton and Obama?  It seem to be a blank there for 8 long, long years.  Hawk, maybe you can fill me in of who was in office during those years.

Btw, Strobe Talbott the president of Brookings institute since 2002, IS a Democrat and forme dep sec of state under Clinton.

So? And Bill Cohen (R) was Secretary of Defense in the Clinton administration. Does that make Clinton a conservative?

What? No stupid little pictures when you are beaten like your pal 'me'?

No point to argue....I stated my opinion, and you stated yours.  What good does it do to debate on here when there is a troll around to post HIS pictures on EVERY post I make.

No point what-so-ever.

Why Conservatism Can't Win

The traditional conservative James Kalb gets all theoretical about why conservatism in any real sense is not possible in contemporary America.

ok, here is one for ya, the New Obama Slogan:

Speaking of slogans ... did you see this one a couple of pages back?

...............................

And now the wing dings are complaining about Mr. Obama's new campaign slogan - 'Forward.'

I guess the Repugs would prefer "Backwards'

It really fits their mentality, after all.
