As a matter of fact, watching that asshat on 60 Minutes last night, (Romney), cost me about a half an hour of my life I'll never get back, and almost cost me a very tasty chili dinner as well!

I'm going with "what I was told" by Romney himself; which is pretty much nothing. Especially last night on 60 Minutes. He could give no specifics on his so called "plan", and given his 47% commentary that came out early last week, it is pretty friggin clear where his head is at; up his ass as usual.

Romney's math skills are pretty damned poor, and his answers were akin to those given one when negotiating with a used car salesman; evasive, untruthful, and designed to divert your attention from the fact that he doesn't know the answers but hopes you buy it anyway.

The man couldn't care any less about you, me, or anyone else other than himself and his ilk. Why people like you are bleating your approval for such an obvious robber baron is beyond comprehension.

and if YOU think Obama cares about YOU or ME you are nuts.  He is NOT a leader. It is that simple.  Romney does NOT need to be POTUS, he can live happily ever after with what he has.  He alreadly lives a pretty simple life, and he is a devoted family man, with a strong faith.

This whole crap of saying he doesn't know math, or he doesn't care about old people and push them over a cliff, or wants dirty air, that he cheats on his taxes....are all liberal talking points.

I admit, he is not the man I prefer to be running our country, but he is HANDS down, already proved to me that he has better leadership skills, and more ability to do the right things to create jobs that this country MUST get very, very soon, or we are ALL in big, big trouble.

If I had magic, I would make all of Mitt's money disappear and make him a used car salesman in Gary, Indiana.  Alice how sweet it would be.  :haha:

He can't even lead his own campaign; what makes you think he can lead a country?

The one thing I took away from Romney's interview on 60 minutes last night was that he would change both Medicare and Social Security to be more means based programs, that is, those who are the least able to support themselves or afford medical coverage as they age are those who benefit most from these programs.  Sounds almost sensible; right?

The way Social Security works now, the more you pay in the more you get back out.

Here's the issue I take with Romney's strategy: the people who need these programs least are also the same people who contributed the most to them during their working lives.  Isn't making people pay into a program from which they will receive little or no benefit and giving that money to people who contributed less or even nothing exactly the type of redistribution of income the conservatives claim to be against?

It's great news for rich people to structure it this way, though, since payroll taxes are capped at $110,100.00 putting the majority of the onus for paying for this "budget balancing" idea squarely on the middle class.

His campaign is fine.  The media says it is in trouble, but HOW is it in trouble?  He is even in all the polls.  Obama's approval rating is below 50%, and that is not good for an incumbent with 40 some days left.

You're delusional...even the conservative pundits think he's in trouble.  Only the complete idiots amongst you are still in denial.

He is throwing his own VP candidate under the bus ....

PELLEY There is a lot of rhetoric about Medicare.

What do you intend to do?

ROMNEY:  Well, I don't want any change to Medicare for current seniors or for those that are nearing retirement. So the plan stays exactly the same. The President's cutting seven hundred and sixteen billion dollars from current Medicare. I disagree with that. I'd put those dollars back into Medicare.

PELLEY:  Mr. Ryan has proposed something similar, almost precisely the same number of seven hundred and sixteen.

ROMNEY:  Yeah. He -- he was going to use that money to reduce the -- the budget deficit. I'm putting it back into Medicare and I'm the guy running for president, not him.

How is that throwing him under the bus?  He has a different view than he does on how they handle medicare....HE IS THE GUY RUNNING FOR POTUS.  I heard that and I just read the transcripts.  I have zero problem with that.  That is being a leader.

who Peggy Noonan?  Name some others.  I bet Mrs Noonan will STILL vote for Romney.  He has made some mistakes, but so has Obama....the bottom line is, who is more capable of being a quality leader, and returning our economy to a positive one.

How about the guy who has proven he can do so by doing exactly that for the past 40 months or so?

The Boston Globe reported earlier this month:

"In many ways, Romney inherited a state economy in 2003 similar to the one President Barack Obama found entering the White House in 2009: one marked by a deep recession, huge job losses, and a widening budget deficit. And, like Obama, Romney struggled mightily, delivering at best a modest recovery dictated less by his political leadership than by sprawling global forces beyond his control. At the end of his term, Romney could claim a small net job gain and a lower unemployment rate, but the pace of job growth lagged the nation badly and only a huge outflow of Massachusetts workers to faster-growing states kept the unemployment rate from climbing higher. It is not quite the image of a turnaround painted by Romney's presidential campaign."

If he can't do it at the state level...a very small state at that, what makes anyone think he can do it for an entire country?

I haven't seen any quality leadership at all.  Well, for that matter any kind of leadership.

AND WHAT WAS OBAMA'S RECORD TO STAND ON BEFORE HE WAS ELECTED?  A was barely a one-term US Senator with no distinguishing achievements.
