What's sickening about the Republicans (Ryan and Romney included) is that they're trying to distance themselves from Akin like he's a despicable oddball.  "He's wrong!" they say.  Even Romney said on Monday that the comments by Akin were "insulting, inexcusable and, frankly, wrong."

But how can they distance himself, and claim he's an oddball, when they do this?

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Republicans drafting their party's official policy platform on Tuesday ratified a call for a Constitutional ban on abortion that makes no exceptions for rape or incest.

The vote to endorse the party's long-standing opposition to abortion and support for a "human life amendment" took place at a meeting of the GOP's official platform committee in Tampa, the site of next week's Republican National Convention.

No matter how far they try to run from Akin, their cries that he's an odd man out are falling on deaf ears.  Adding a plank like the above to the party platform shows that Akin's views aren't that far off from mainstream Republican thought.  If I were a woman, there's absolutely no way I could ever support Republicans who continue to pander to the religious right to garner votes.

As for Akin, he's staying in the race.

And if that's not enough, here's another pandering plank in the platform, championed to passage by that dip shit Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - The Republican Party's platform committee on Tuesday rejected a measure that would have expressed formal support for same-sex civil unions.

The platform committee, tasked with drafting the party's official list of principles and positions on a range of issues, is meeting in Tampa ahead of next week's GOP Convention.

If I were a member of the LGBT community, I could never vote for a Republican until they stop that shit too.

Is Biden a democrat?      oh, that's right he has NEVER stepped on his own dick, has he?   :roll eyes:  ;D   :haha:

Only in you mind Hawk.  Everything he has said is the truth.  Just like the statement, "this is a big fucking deal."  Joe Biden is a good man, a good father and a honest man.     Like his statement about Wall Street having us in chains is so damn true.  Your Republican Party let the dogs of Wall Street loose and you see what George W. has created.  So who's the dick.  Dick.  :haha:

Even Diogenes could search the country over and he wouldn't find an honest man or women in the Republican Party.  You can Goggle Diogenes, Dick.  :haha:

Isaac may crash the Republican National Convention next week.  Maybe they're not Gawd's chosen party after all.  ;D

Something else has surfaced that may also cause them a little bit of a problem: Republicans frolicking, one naked, in the Sea of Galilee!

'Remorseful'

Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) apologized for going skinny-dipping in the Sea of Galilee during a fact-finding trip.

A freshman congressman from Kansas has apologized for going skinny-dipping in the Sea of Galilee during a fact-finding trip to Israel last summer.

Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) said he was "incredibly remorseful that I have caused embarrassment to my constituents" for a "momentary lapse of judgment" that resulted in his jumping into the water without clothes on during the August 2011 trip.

Yoder, elected from the Kansas City area in 2010, issued the statement late Sunday after Politico
reported that he stripped during a late-night swim with other lawmakers, congressional spouses and staffers.

The Sea of Galilee is a lake in northern Israel. Scripture says Jesus walked on water there.
After the incident, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) warned lawmakers that their behavior could distract from the mission of the trip.

GOP aides denied Politico's report that the FBI looked into the incident. In an e-mail, FBI spokesman ill Carter would not confirm that report. "Nor do we confirm that interviews may have taken place with regards to that trip," he wrote.

But a law enforcement source said that the FBI may have conducted interviews that pertain to campaign finance allegations against Rep. Michael G. Grimm (R-N.Y.), who was on the trip to Israel and then went to Cyprus.

Grimm has not been notified of any investigation regarding his travels to Israel or Cyprus, according to spokeswoman Carol Danko.

Other lawmakers involved in the late-night swim included Reps. Steve Southerland II (R-
Fla.), Tom Reed (R-N.Y.), Benjamin Quayle (R-Ariz.) and Jeff Denham (R-Calif.).

In an e-mail, Reed spokesman Tim Kolpien said the lawmaker and his wife swam with the group — but "appropriately clothed."

In a statement, Quayle said the trip was "extremely significant" to his religious faith. "At no point was I aware of or witness to any inappropriate behavior," he added.

In an interview Monday with a New Hampshire television station, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney called the incident "reprehensible" and "another terrible mistake by individuals." His running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), in the same interview, called the behavior "unbecoming of a member of Congress."

Todd Akins screwed up and needs to step down.  What he said was "stupid".  With an important election coming up, he should know better than to say such foolishness.

Did you read the plank inserted into the party platform today HH?   Still think he should step down?

Apparently Republicans believe it's ok to hold beliefs such as Akin, and to attempt to legislate them, as long as you don't actually say that's your position.  Maybe they think if they don't talk about it, nobody will notice.  According to those planks added today, Akin simply clarified the Republican party's position on such matters.  He actually chose to speak it, unlike others who hold to that exact same belief, but are scared to say so.

I can't believe that Romney, limp-dick Limbaugh, and others are still calling for him to drop out after the RNC inserted the planks that they did today into the party platform.  It would be funny if it weren't so scary.

LMFAO!!  Priceless quote from Michael Mayo of the Sun-Sentinel newspaper here in Fort Lauderdale.

"The faith-based conservatives among the Republicans better start praying for some divine intervention. Otherwise, Isaac could turn out to be one heck of a party pooper."

If Todd Akin won't pull out even though everyone is asking him to, is he legitimately raping the election?

"Every election roughly half the population votes Democrat and the other half votes Republican. Now I understand why the Republicans get one percent of the vote – the richest one percent. That other 49% someone will have to explain to me. The facts about what the Republicans have done to the middle class are beyond reasonable doubt, and yet their base refuses to see it. The monied elite in America are dragging a bag filled with your future down the steps, and your reaction is "Hold on there, that looks heavy. Let me give you a hand getting it into your trunk." -- Bill Maher
