I met the announcement of Harry Reid's retirement with a certain amount of glee (which is putting it mildly - "Na Na Na (Kiss Him Goodbye)" by Steam was playing on a loop on my iTunes all day Friday). But then the theories of why Reid was retiring started coming out - everything from he got roughed up by some Vegas mob boss or that he was simply in poor health. I started to think maybe I was a little too joyful over the misfortune of a fellow human being and, I admit, felt a little bit bad for the guy (Look, I'm kind of a softie where these things are concerned. I get teary-eyed during those "Save the Animals" ads even with that irritating Sarah MacLachlan song playing over the speakers. I'm only human - what do you want from me?)

But I knew better than to waste my pity on a guy like Harry Reid. Look at what this unrepentant leftist skunk said when CNN's Dana Bash asked him about saying Mitt Romney never paid taxes on the floor of the Senate -
The most disgusting thing about this? Look how PLEASED he is with himself! He's all "Yeah, I lied about Romney paying his taxes and I lied about the Koch Brothers. ON THE SENATE FLOOR. What are you gonna do about it?" Can you imagine a Republican getting away with any of this? I mean, we know that Harry Reid is used to saying absolutely crazy stuff in the past and it seems that he's going to take this attitude all the way through to the end of his term.

The man doesn't deserve pity. He deserves to be slapped with a lawsuit. Several times over.
