Hate to tell ya this Ex but the "Tea Party" isn't in power nor do they control anything in the government.

I hate to be the one to break this to you but they have enough seats in the house to hold up legislation which is exactly what they did on the raising of the debt ceiling...to both Democrat and Republican sponsored bills.  If you knew anything about what's going on in the world outside of your trailer park, you'd know that.

Really? Tell that to all the conservative republicans, tea party members, and general republicans who signed it then! They referred to it frequently during the debt ceiling debates, and listed it as a source for not compromising; in fact the main source. The tea party continues to use it as some sort of lever with which to apply pressure upon those who signed it. . . 

While I agree it is meaningless, to hear it from those mentioned above it is a sacred vow!

I agree that Norquist is a whack nut, but he's in bed with the tea party! (If for no other reason than association).

His history already clearly demonstrates his influence and alignment with the republican party, and his steadfast opposition toward ANY tax increases of ANY kind, masking his real intention of expansion of personal wealth and protection of same; no matter what the cost. (His own, NOT yours or mine or anyone else's).

He clearly has desired to be puppet master, and his initiation of his "petition" is a marked validation that he is not only succeeding, but obtaining the support of historically conservative sectors within an increasingly divided republican party. (Divide and conquer).

He does not oppose (publicly) the tea party and their platform, simply because his initiatives and those of the tea party are mutually supportive at this time. An unstated opposition toward a given perspective or position implies consent within the legislative branch of our government. (By their own definition of the condition via the legislative process, as republicans are so quick to point out. And indeed some democrats as well).

Norquist has succeeded in the initiation of a covert coup against our legislative branch, and represents a very stark "clear and present danger" within our government in this day. The sad part is there are so many that are blindly supporting his initiatives and facilitating the demise of this country.  (One need only to read through media reports surrounding the debt ceiling to see what I am talking about here).
