Well, nothing that was mentioned had mandates... the electricity provided for that shower by municipal water supply...or the weather you watched on your TV...or the food that you ate that you did not grow that had to be inspected before you bought it...or the prescription drugs that you had to take is NOT mandatory....Not a single thing you talked about is Mandatory... will you be fined if you don't watch the weather every morning? Will you be fined if you grow your own food to eat for breakfast? Will you be fined if you use well water instead of municipal water? No....but you will be fined if you do not have adequate health care insurance under the new law...Americans are getting tired of THIS congress (and past congress's) implementing and ramming trillions of dollars bills of wasteful spending...this HC bill has a potential of bankrupting this nation...the gov control is merely icing on the cake...enough is enough.

Yes, they are each federally regulated via mandates created to create and implement them. The drugs you take, from those prescribed to those purchased over the counter, are regulated by the FDA and that branch of the government levies million dollar fines to those who attempt to circumvent or knowingly violate its policies and procedures. Same for the FDA, DOT, etc., etc., etc.

The health insurance reform bill will help assure you do not have to pay for the "free" services those without insurance obtain. It will provide a means for providers and services to be compensated for services/goods rendered in caring for the sick and infirm; removing the excuse of providers and insurers that they have to increase the charges for services and premiums to make up for those who have no insurance. Thus theoretically leading to decreased premiums and costs to those who require treatment.

They are regulating the insurance industry not controlling healthcare providers. . .

it is NOT wrong.....IT WILL put MORE power in the government and REMOVE power from the private industry....DONT tell me I don't know what I am taking about.....I have been glued to this for a year now.....17,000 MORE IRS (Gov) agents WILL be employed....and 2500 removed from Sally Mae (private)....right off the bat....it is nothing more than an entitlement program....that WILL answer to the IRS...which btw, will give the federal government open and unfettered access to every American's bank accounts...

and I am researching right now about a new Ready Reserve Corps which would overlap the National Reserve Corps that is appropriated $17.5 million, that is supposed to be in sectiono 5210 of the HC Bill...and there is more turning up by the day....

the only thing that I am said wrong is...the word NOW, but these plans are to be implemented if this goes according to plan.....

I'm sorry Henry, but you're wrong.  Tell me exactly how the government is going to be running health care?  The answer is, it isn't.  The Republicans stripped the "public option" out of the bill.  Remember that?

There is no government control of health care with passage of this bill.  Period.

God forbid the government is involved in our day to day lives!  The sky will fall and they will take your guns if the government gets involved!

This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the United States Department of Energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the TV to one of the Federal Communications Commission regulated channels to see what the National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast of United States Department of Agriculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.

At the appropriate time as regulated by the United States congress and kept accurate by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the United States Naval Observatory, I get into my National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads built by the local, state, and federal Departments of Transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the Environmental Protection Agency, using legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank. On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the United States Postal Service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After work, I drive my NHTSA car back home on DOT roads, to my house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department.

I then log onto the internet which was developed by the defense advanced research projects administration and post on freerepublic.com and fox news forums about how socialsism in medicine is bad because the government can't do anything right.

  Henry, most towns will let you use well water.  But if you put it down a city drain and though the city water treatment plant.  It will be metered so you can pay for a sewer bill.

  They will fine you and plug your sewer line.  I have seen people who have tried it.  They will bring a back hoe, dig down to your sewer line and cut and plug it.

My only problem with the bill; no public (not for profit) option.  Now, the mandate only serves to increase the greedy bastard's coffers within the financial sector.  All profits should be driven out of health care, from big pharma to the insurance conglomerates that should have failed, but were bailed out (at our expense and a double dip of our money, at that).  Profit motivates big pharma to keep us sick, and not cure a goddamn thing.  Profits motivates doctors to only practice the last drug-rep's pitch instead of real medicine.  Profits allow the financial sector to play roulette on wall street with our money instead of actually treating anyone.  Bottom line; it is immoral to profit from the sickness of people, fucking period.

  Hey, Dan Foster, I like the picture of good old Glen Beck.  You have probably seen it, but other people need to go to YouTube and type in Glen Beck and see them put Vick's salve under his eyes and watch him cry and say, "I'm getting use to this."
