Bush an Officer, jet pilot in the reserves went AWOL from his reserve unit.  If I had did it,  I would have went back into the regular army on the ground in Nam.  George W. should have been sent to Nam and spent some combat jet flying.  The Troll.

First of all, I've seen the tape. And your reference to it in trying a "one-upmanship" game falls flat. The analogy (more precisely a simile) is just that: an analogy, not a truism. Your attempt to deflect is simply a weak defense of a position you know is untenable.

Secondly, that "I'm an old guy (especially one who has suffered an injury), so I get some deference" ploy isn't going to fly, either. I don't know about others here, but I'm about the same age as you, and none of us has even mentioned personal circumstances in seeking the sympathy vote.

What you have been through in life is unique to you, but hardly unique to the world. Your "When someone goes after me, I fight back and I fight to win" attitude is simply an overreaction to a FORUM. Verbal wordplay here is absolutely no threat to you in real life; it is simply a perception based on over-sensitivity.

Breathe deeply, count your blessings, and try some diplomacy.

  Did I get you right. The Texas national guard and after you sign a contract with them you can just walk away.  From what I heard, you better not try that with the Indiana National Guard.  Break your contract,  Full time regular army duty.

I am a old guy, I have gone about every thing a man can do, but go to prison and get super-rich.  If I would pass away today I can say I have never cheated anyone and I never mistreated a person that did not deserve it.  I would have wished I had told off more over educated people that they were full of B.S.

But I do love my forum buds and I love the Zone. Mainly because the constant rough and tumble lost it's appeal and this place was welcoming and a relaxed place to express myself without people making assumptions about my character based on my difference of opinion (nutshell). For that reason, I feel protective of those who have been so kind to me despite the fact that I don't always deserve it.

Having said that, let's see how the National Guard discussion goes

Let me set something straight here. I am not a Mr. me I'm a Ms. me and I'm close to your age and not nearly as lucky financially as you have been.  Did I have missed opportunities, yes I did, but I'm not crying over spilled milk now I'm just doing what I can and making the best of what I have.  I've had the things that made me happy and it didn't happen to include wealth but rather spending time with my family and trying to save for retirement which, due to the economy, went by the wayside last year.  The tax breaks which Bush enacted did help me and if you check you'll find they helped you too. 

I'm not here to fight but to give my opinion which I did.  You asked a question and got an answer then you wanted to argue about it.  I gave an answer one way, with a link and Henry gave it another with the figures.  I did not "go after you" that is not my style.

To me this whole thing isn't a Republican vs. Democrat thing because when it comes down to it there are good and bad on both sides.  At this point I don't care about what Bush did or didn't do it's what's going on now and what congress is trying to do to us and most has little to even do with Obama unless he starts the Executive order thing to by pass congress even voting on things. To me that pass it and then find out what's in it deal Nancy Pelosi said about the health care bill indicates there's something in there that isn't a good thing. 

  Mr. "Me"  I am sorry thing didn't turn out as good as it did for me.  I sure had some good luck, I had no one pulling the string for me and really I don't like to brag about it.  I do have some friend who didn't get the breaks.  When someone goes after me, I fight back and I fight to win.  Loosing just plain sucks.  My son had some really bad luck with his wife getting sick without insurance.  It will cost me a little more in taxes.  But, believe me, I want everyone in this country to be able to get some medical care and not go bankrupt, like my son.  I am going to save his home.  So help me god.  The Troll.  What I like to say to people I am beginning to like.  May you live as long as you want and may you not want as long as you live.  Good Luck on your travels through the universe.

No, that was Bush. And he wasn't in the reserve. He was in the Texas National Guard. And ...
the payment and retirement records the White House handed out three days prior to Calhoun's claims show that Bush received no pay or attendance credits from April until the end of October 1972.

No he didn't serve he deserted just like they reported on CBS news.  His dad bought and paid for his honorable discharge and he was playing golf and drinkin' the whole 6yrs. Hell he probably didn't even really go to college either.
