I decided to go with the Yamaha FG700S Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar...I really liked the sound of this and it had a more distinctive sound over the Epiphone that I was looking at....the wood grain on the sides is more unique and has a very high gloss to it....a nice looking guitar......they did not have the Ibanez that I was interested in...he gave me a good deal on a case and threw in some picks....

and this concludeds the Hawk family Christmas shopping season... :biggrin2:

btw, I did the check list that you guys gave me and it least it made me feel as if I knew what I was doing....no cracks, or warping...and even though I do not consider myself a guitar player, I was still able to play a couple of "diddlies" to compare sound.
Glad you found one you liked and were able to finish your shopping.  Good choice.

Hey PH you wouldn't happen to know anything about these would you?  http://www.guitarcenter.com/PG-Music-Band-In-A-Box-Pro-2009-581587-i1445663.gc

I know you better have a really high capacity hard drive if you intend to use it much. A friend uses it for his bands music, (The Dockers), and they like it alright last I heard.

In layman's terms does that mean it uses a lot of RAM?  If you mean space I've got lots of that, 250G and only 16% used.

Yes it can, but if you intend to use it to write songs etc., you'll need a hard drive to write to. . .
