My father was a patient of Dr Lind at the time all this took place.  Dad was still seeing him after Dr. Lind more or less saved his life in the St Johns Emergency room when he diagnosed dad's leg pain as a bloodclot.  To say we were shocked with news of his involvement is an understatement.  We more or less followed the news at the time, but since we had relocated to the other side of the state, it was difficult.  Once this happened, we stopped making the monthly drive to Middletown for the follow up visits.

In 1972, the body was found in a trailer park lake along I-69, near SR13.  It is just east of 13, along the south side of 69.  69 runs east and west in that section.  The trailer park was much smaller back then.

Yes, the lake is at the entrance to Carefree Homes (although I believe it has a different name now), right behind the new Rickers on SR 13 @ I-69.
Something witty and relevant.

I don't think Dr. Lind was still practicing out of the Middletown medical clinic at the time this happened. He left there and practiced medicine out of an office on Columbus Avenue in Anderson for a year or so before he was arrested for firearms violations.

I thought he was in Edgewood where Ricker's is now.

I am sure he was on Columbus Ave. just down the street from us, another doctor took over his practice, I think he was oriental and he just died in the last year or so.

I can't think of any doctors offices on Columbus other than the chiropractor I used to go to and I think there is a dentist in that same building and that's just south of 38th St.  I didn't think that building was there when Lind was still practicing though.

I think that is the place and I think the doctor who took it over was a Dr. Chung. I may be wrong, but that is how I remember it. I don't know where Dr. Lind is now. He tried to get his license back after he got out of jail and was unsuccessful. Seems like someone told me he went out west maybe. His wife seemed like a very nice person. I only met her a couple times.

Come to think of it I do remember seeing a Dr. Chung sign out there. I think he's on the other end from Baker, the Chiropractor.  I went to her because she was close to where I lived at the time and it was on my way to and from work.

Dr Chung died several years ago, but he was on Columbus ave.

I was talking to a colleague today and believe it or not the subject came up! I listened to two of them having a conversation and Dr. Foley's name arose. I then told them about this little tale and the "interest" it continues to drive. . . Then I tried to pull it up on my little phone and could not find it. . . Thus the bump for use tomorrow. . .

Victim: Gary Lake, supposed police informant.

Since PH "shamelessly bumped" this thread, I went back and read it again.  How ironic that someone with the surname Lake would have his headless body found in a lake.  ;D

I did the same thing, and thought the same thing. . .  :big grin:

Wish we had some "new" information on this topic. It seems to be a fairly popular "unsolved mystery".
