I hope that lockout can be averted, but it doesn't look that way at the moment.

The NFLPA and Owners are stuck on the split over revenue generation. . . and I don't see either side willing to give in. . .

Indianapolis can kiss the 2012 Superbowl buh-bye, and all that supposed revenue and job creation due to the expected influx of a national audience used to justify the building of the Luke on the taxpayers backs. . . Another bill of goods forced upon the taxpayers thanks to the strong arm tactics of the NFL and its owners. . .

Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has spread to her liver and she's discontinuing treatment.  She posted a goodbye message on her Facebook page today.  I don't know how much longer she has, but she'll soon be on this thread.  Despite your politics, this woman faced a lot with the utmost of courage and grace.  Truly a classy lady.

That is very sad.  I really like her as a person.

That is too bad, she seems like a nice person, and her kids are still young, too.

I agree that really does suck, she did seem like a very classy woman, she has had a rough way to go the last few years.....

My heart bleeds for this woman, and I can say without a doubt that she demonstrates freighter loads of class within her statement. I am going to quote it here below, because I really admire her strength and ability to maintain her composure and put her thoughts into words when confronted with such a devastating challenge.  I honestly do not think I could be as strong and composed as she appears to be. . .

Quote. . .The message from Edwards, the wife of two-time presidential candidate John Edwards, reads:

"You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And, yes, there are certainly times when we aren't able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It's called being human.
"But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isn't possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know."

This is truly a heartbreaking situation!
