Strange Stories

 Every community has bizarre and strange things happen. I would like to hear about some of them. I'll start us off.....

There is a town about 20 miles from where I live. There was a family with 2 small children. The mother and her boyfriend killed the father,and wrapped him like a mummy, and put him in the basement. Here comes the creepy part.... the mother told the kids that Daddy was sleeping down in the basement.  So, the kids would take food down there,and spend time with him.  This went on for 4 years. The kids started wondering why Daddy never woke up. One of them told their teacher that Daddy was in the basement,and never,ever woke up. The teacher thought it was strange,and called the police. I've heard of some creepy crap, but that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I can't remember how much jail time they got. How crazy is that? Living in a house with a dead person. It's just like Norman Bates.

I spent my teen and young adult years in Tennessee and the big thing was the Bell Witch.

When that movie, The Blair Witch project came out, I thought--damn--whoever did that must have heard of the Bell witch.

Here's another creepy true story.... I used to have a friend that had a son, that was always finding himself in trouble. He was kind of a shady guy. When he was 18 or 19, he fell in with a group of guys, that were always in trouble, or on the wrong side of the law. These guys did some crazy stuff. There were drugs involved, burglaries, and quite possibly murders.Rumor has it that my friends son "Nate" knew a little too much, about some of he goings on in the group,and he might get a conscience about some of it. One morning they found "Nate" dead on some railroad tracks. The police didn't do much investigating, because he had been in trouble with the law,so they didn't have much sympathy. They ruled it a suicide, and closed the case. His Mom wasn't satisfied, and started digging. Somebody involved in the case told her, that there was absolutely NO blood at the scene. There was NO way he was killed by that train. Considering that the cops refused to investigate it, there was nothing she could do. Ironically, one of his "friends" got a guilty conscience, and told others what had really happened to "Nate". It seems his friends thought he was going to rat them out for something,and they decided to kill him. The story is, that they strung him up on hook, tortured him for hours, and bled him out through the bottoms of his feet. Then dumped him on the traintracks. I don't know for sure if those punks got caught up with or not. What a horrible way to die.

I always wonder why those people don't move. Honestly, why would someone tolerate being slapped!

I grew up listening to all kinds of "haunt" stories. I can't recall any off the top of my head. When I was a teenager, I moved to Greenbrier County, WV which is rich in history AND lots of ghost stories.  Here's one that was featured on a television program. I want to say, "Unsolved Mysteries", but it was solved, so it may have been a similar program on the paranormal.

Another regional favorite is the Droop Mountain Battlefield ghosts:

This is the one that I heard:

West Virginia's last significant Civil War battle occurred on November 6, 1863. Union troops pinned the Confederates, who had concentrated their army on the ridge crest, in place by attacking from the right, left, and rear. This action drove the Confederates from the summit. This 285-acre park includes interpretive exhibits, Confederate earthworks, a small museum containing artifacts from the battle, lookout tower, picnic area, hiking trails, and children play areas. Droop is considered the oldest state park in West Virginia and is 4 miles south of Hillsboro. Here in the park stands an old replica of a cannon. Sometimes, on certain nights, you can see the spirit of a soldier perched on top of it smoking a cigarette.

There was a similar story about that called The Velvet Ribbon. The woman always wore a black velvet ribbon on her neck. Even her husband didn't know why. She wouldn't take it off, and the husband got mad, and one night when she was sleeping, he cut the ribbon, and her head fell off.LMAO!!! GOOD TIMES!!!!

Here's another true story.....

This happened in the town where I work about 15 years ago.  This doctor got mad at his wife for some reason, and decided to kill her. I can't remember how he actually killed her, but he did. He then went to the Sears store in town, and bought a blender, and put her remains in it, put all of it in the garbage disposal. Here's the weird part..... when he was done, he cleaned up the blender, and returned it to the Sears store. He would have gotten away with it, but the blender had remnants left in it,and the employees at Sears called the cops. I think he got life in prison without parole. Creepy!!!
