Thought I would start a place to write down some random memories. I'm not good with journaling...and I'm not consistent with blogging, but I come to the Zone daily. Thought it may be helpful during this time of transition...so thrilled about returning "home", but yet dealing with some uncertainties.

Nothing too personal, just a place to think out loud.

Feel free to add your own -- something from your childhood that you relish, or maybe something your parents taught you...anything you'd like to share.

Sitting there folding fresh laundry, thinking about the upcoming change in weather and the need to buy winter clothes for my children. I fold a t-shirt that my mother bought a few years ago and add it to my daughter's tall pile. Thinking back to the time when the postal package arrived-- just a few short months after moving to FL, when feelings were raw on both ends. I was so confused at the contents which were quite scattered...very manic, hurtful, yet meaningful.  The box contained so many random items -- newspaper clippings, a locket with childhood picture, a few Mother's day cards, a birthday card, a big flag intended for an exterior pole, etc. But, beneath the rubble & memorbilia, in the bottom of the box, I found two beautiful summer outfits for my then 2 year-old. The odd thing at the time was the realization that the clothing wouldn't fit my daughter for several years to come. Why did my mother take the time to pick out these adorable outfits when they were so big? What WAS she thinking? I shook my head, neatly folded the clothing, and tucked them away in my daughter's closet for summertime in a few years.

Now, as I return to the task at hand, again preparing to put it away as we pack for the move, I am thankful.
