ALEXANDRIA – An allegedly armed suspect was shot Friday afternoon by Madison County SWAT team members who were in the process of surrounding an Alexandria home, according to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson.

"The armed subject refused verbal commands and presented a threat to the officers who ultimately shot the subject multiple times," said a brief statement from the sheriff.

The suspect, 47-year-old Alexandria resident Mark E. Croy, was first taken to Community Hospital and then transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, said a press release issued by the Indiana State Police.

This happened not very far from my In Laws place, and is the talk of the town. Nothing ever happens in Alex, so you can imagine!
