Who do you think should go without health insurance? Why?

Elaine

i work in the health care field, the abuse is incredible.  people use the system to get prescription drugs to sell, doctors use it to collect payment from the govt, hospitals use it to increase fed funding.
there should be some sort of change in the way we utilize the medical field, i believe by creating co-pays for drugs, for dr visits, for urgent care visits.
some of these people who use the system to get unneccessary treatment and drugs have better access than people who have private pay insurance.
example: protonix, prilosec, prevacid--people on the system obtain these drugs at no out of pocket cost.  retirees, if they are covered, pay sometimes as much as 50 bucks a month.  most plans dont cover the drug.
how about viagra and cialis--touchy subject, most people on govt paid insurance (welfare) obtain these drugs at no out of pocket cost, however, a retirement plan, including medicare supplementals do not cover the drug.
soooo, the medical community needs to suck it up, stop supplying these lazy, rude, suck us dry, slackers with better options than those of us who wake up at 5am, crawl into the shower, go to work, and pay the way for deadbeats.

I don't know that anyone should go without health care, but there are many ways for people who have no insurance to get treated. There is a children's clinic in town that charges on an income based fee, also a large general clinic which offers eye care and I believe dental care. You can get free immunizations for children at the health department and in an emergency you can always go to the emergency room.

Sad to say a lot of what Elaine said is true.
