"Political Correctness..."  (This is from an email...I cannot take credit for it, but I love it)...

No offense, but I have really grown to hate the term "mainstream media."

If you aren't mainstream, doesn't that automatically make you an extremist, on the fringe, etc.?

I take the mainstream media simply as it sounds...the MAIN media...ie ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN, which seems to be on the same page, politically....the stream.

although by definition, FOXNEWS is probably the most popular in prime time news watching....

If that were so then Fox, WND, NewsMax, etc. are also "mainstream."


Or do you (and others) really mean mainstream media is any media which you perceive to have a liberal tilt?  :wink:

I think it is a term, that was introduced by the right, which, before the rise of fox, was predominatly liberal news...such as ABC (Charlie Gibson ) CBS (Dan Rather) NBC (Katie Couric, TODAY SHOW) MSNBC and CNN which are completely off the charts liberal....along with NY TIMES, LA TIMES & CHI tribune to name a few.....

I think only recently has WND and NewsMax has began to gain in popularity...and that is only to balance there is.....FoxNews has become the Number one news in American (at least during primetime)...

besides all of this.....

Neocons do not appear to be hillbilly douche-bags because the media paints them that way but because they are hillbilly douche-bags.

One more thing .... the term "mainstream media" is, in of itself, a PC corruption of the language. As you admitted, it was an invention of the right to describe the liberal media.

Bo, there are toooo many to post here but I have seen the pictures that others have posted. So let me get this right, others can post any pics of anything they like but you are trying to censure me? I missed where there was an election and you were elected to run my life. Give me a break!

I intend to steal it at the first opportunity.  Aside: if we were discussing Karl Rove, would we talk about picking up the Turd Blossom by the clean end?
