Well, and that was a fact of life for us. We knew that the animals were food w/exception to the ones listed. I shouldn't have been surprised that Pigley met the same end, but because we were allowed to treat him as a pet, I let my guard down.  She meant well. She didn't know that I'd grow up and know anything else. I guess she thought I'd be living on a farm too.

Well, as some of you that read my threads know, my Hubby has been real sick. He's still feeling pretty awful, and waiting for his next CT scan is killing us. The worst part is not knowing if it's cancer. He goes Nov. 10th for the scan, a COPD, and Asthma tests. His next appointment with the Pulmonary specialist is Nov. 17 th. I'm trying to be optimistic, and I'm trying to keep him from losing hope. It's pretty miserable for him trying to work with his lungs like they are. His breathing medicine is helping a little but not much. It's cold in Chicago at night when he's working the docks. It seems like I can never say the right thing to him so, I don't say much at all. There's a big white elephant in the corner of our living room, and everyday we work hard to avoid it. I'll try to keep this thread updated for anybody that cares to read it.

Oh my! Dex, I just saw this.

How is he holding up? What a difficult position for you both to be in.  I've been in a similar situation and the range of emotions involved is honestly like an emotional landmine and rollercoaster all at the same time and many of them were difficult to understand, much less deal with.

You and Mr. Morgan are in my thoughts. Hang in there.

He's feeling a little better, and is finally eating again. He lost some weight, but he's starting to recover. The breathing medicine is working.... so far. Nov. 10 he has his lung scan done, and his Asthma, and COPD test. We're trying to stay positive, and aren't discussing anything about it. I will be extremely glad when Nov. 17th gets here. That's the day we talk to the Pulmonary specialist, and get the results back. At first I had a REAL bad feeling about this but, now I'm very calm, and feeling very peaceful. I think it's gonna be alright. Damn me if I'm wrong.

Thanks me!!!! We need all we can get. Today, he's is actually feeling well enough to fly his R/C helicopter. He hasn't felt like doing much of that so, that is a very good sign. We've decided if his tests come out good, we're going all out for Christmas this year. We're gonna decorate the outside of the house to the max, for all our neighbors, and ourselves to enjoy. I'm gonna work on the plans today, about what I want where, and what color scheme I'm going with. It's good to stay positive, and not give in to despair.

This is an update about my husband... he had his second CT scan a week ago, and yesterday we saw the pulmonary specialist. The nodule hasn't grown, which is really good news. Next Monday he is having a PET scan. It checks the nodule for live activity, which basically means cancer. The following Monday, we go back to the pulmonary specialist to get the results. If there is no live activity, we've decided that that's it for testing. We don't want to keep taking tests that aren't necessary. Those tests are extremely expensive. We have damn good insurance but, we don't want to be "played" by the doctor. Sometimes, they test you for no other reason than to make a buck$. I'll post when I have more news.

Thanks guys.  Just a few more days until the next scan. I'm hoping everything will be alright by Christmas. Hopefully, we will have something to really celebrate for the holidays.
