aww... he's cute...

and now he's dead:

he met an unfortunate end and was flung into the yard... little did we know his carcass would hang in a bush as a warning for all to see...

how'd ya like to kiss that on the mouth?  i'd probably do it.

Poor guy. They are cute. If there was a way to rid them of harmful bacteria, fleas and rabies (in some cases) then they'd make great pets.

i've petted one.  i caught him on halloween.  then i set him free.  (i hope it's not the same one.... bats like to return "home").  i really think they are amazing.

sorry...they creep me out...I lived in a 3rd floor (attic) loft apartment for several years and they were in abundance.

The only good thing is we didn't seem to have many creepy crawlers.

Ugh.

The morning my grandmother died one of those furry fuzzy things came swooping out to greet me as I walked through the apartment in just a towel.

Good thing the neighbors couldn't see into the windows.

we've had at least 6 encounters in this house (been here 6 years in may)... they're always getting in somehow... (creepy, we heard digging around in the bedroom wall the night before... i think there is a hole behind the headboard--the last owner built it into the wall...no way to get behind there).

Hmmm....would that be little digging or BIG digging???

little... i think the bat was nesting... (i hope there aren't a bunch of babies in my wall...)

Oh...okay...*shudder*...for a moment I had a flashback to a different apartment/house I lived in. It was well over 200 years-old & we had a raccoon (believe it or not) that lived in the walls.

Geez, when that thing got to digging around I thought it'd come through the wall!

we've had problems with birds in the walls... bats in the walls.

the grossest was the rats.  a neighbor was evicted.  the grass grew over 5 ft tall.  the landlady would dump garbage from other rental properties in the yard (since no one could see with all that grass).  though across the street and down a few--we had rats under our porch that were the size of alligators.  oddly, the stray cat population dropped considerably.

we killed over 10 rats--huge ones.  the health department finally came down and forced the woman to take care of the property.

That wasn't digging; that was the camera zooming in and out.

Wait....

Nevermind.
Something witty and relevant.
